The thing about trying to categorize summers is that you may not necessarily go by the description...

For me cool summer has too many neutrals, soft summer has too substantive colours in the pastels so light summer it is. For me it's all about the blending., not that I do any of this though...

Thank you for your suggestions, everyone! I will go shopping and grab items of colors that I've never tried before, simply to see what the color looks like against my face. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised or maybe I'll confirm a color was not a good one to begin with.

I think I can tell which colors don't work so well but I'm hoping to find a color that just makes my face sing. Ya know? I had a few shirts like that in high school but my hair was much lighter.

Anyway, I appreciate the input!

Also Kacie, the colour swatches online and in books are always off. Go by the written descriptions of colours instead.

And one more thing (that you probably know) - yellow skin is melanin, it's not your undertone. It doesn't determine your season. It does affect how colours look on you though. As a Winter I'm supposed to look good in emerald green, but thanks to my skin tone I look positively jaundiced in it :S

Kacie, I think you're probably a Summer. But best thing would be to put on a lot of different colours (separately) and see how you look. I'm sure you've read this advice, but don't be distracted by how they go with your eyes or hair or arms lol! Just ask yourself, does this make me look more tired, or more well rested? Do my flaws (not that I saw any!) seem to recede or stand out?

FWIW I'm a Winter (but I don't wear every recommended Winter colour, just a few that work best for me).

I'm not very good at determining "colour seasons", but here's some more info that might be helpful?
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ory/page/2

Also: don't get too hung up on "colour limitations" based on which season you are. Often you *can* wear a colour that wouldn't be the most flattering on its own, when you pair it with a different colour, or by adding a patterned or colourful scarf to a black or white top if those colours look too harsh on you on their own etc. Lots of possibilities:-)

I *think* I agree with your assesment... the soft summer description even says that they can get confused with a winter, and I very much thought winter for you before I saw yor hair.

I'm not 100% sure, because without seeing your hair, you seem to have cool features that are pretty high contrast. I wouldn't want to scare you off bright winter colors by saying you are definitely a soft summer.

Maybe take a look here and try out some of the colors to see what looks best. The proof is in the pudding!

Ok based on some online quizzes and photos, I'm going to go with "soft summer" because "cool summer" doesn't quite work -- my hair does have some warmth to it. i'm not 100% cool.

I think the "soft summer" definition fits: http://www.prettyyourworld.com.....ummer.html

Hello!

I'm trying to figure out how to post photos on here, so I might need to post links if nothing else.

Anyway, I've done some self-evaluations and I *think* I am a "cool summer" but I am not certain.

My hair is throwing me off. There seem to be bits of gold and copper-ish highlights in the sunlight, or am I wrong? Maybe it's more of a silvery gold instead of warm-gold? I don't know!

Took a pic of my eyeball. It's grey-blue.

My skin (un-make-uped to help evaluate, sorry!) has some reddish blemish areas. I don't burn super-easily, but I do burn if I"m exposed in hot sun for awhile. I do tan somewhat and I think I have a more yellow-y/faint olive quality to my skin.

Overall, I'm at a loss for how I should categorize my coloring.

I am trying to figure out a few colors and intensities that would suit me best so that I can know what to shop for this fall.

I feel like ink black and true white are too intense for me. I feel most comfortable in grey as a neutral, but is it my best?

Help!
