I don't really have a good opinion to lend other than I liked the medium cut. Do you have a good stylist that you trust? Maybe you could take several pictures in to her and see what she thinks? maybe you would have to do a hybrid of something?

Oooh! I vote #2. I like it when fine, wispy hair looks even wispier.

I have fairly fine hair and just have long layers in it. It is pretty much wash and go, all I have to do is spray on some colour lock leave in conditioner and smooth over some morrocanoil to deal with the wispies and leave it to air dry. It dries pretty weel straight then on special occassions i blow dry and straighten it x

I'm not an hair expert, but I really like the first style, it's edgy! I believe this cut is better if you have thin hair... but let's hear the experts!

I really like the second photo, the dark hair with bangs...but I think it is a wig honestly.:)

With fine ,straight hair (as I have also) it is going to require some maintenance time each day...you already know that. Just depends on how much you want to invest.

Keeping it longer with some long layers and a bang (or not) is probably the most practical for you being a mom you can throw it in a pony, or curl it for a night on the town...rare with little ones I know:)

Kind of hard to say without seeing your face and hair as it is, and knowing how much time you want to put into it.

I have fine hair and it is my personal belief that fine hair always requires maintenance of some kind to look good. I will never have a wash and go style. Some women have perfectly acceptable fine hair when it air dries, but IMO, it never really looks fabulous. For me, it's worth the 15 minutes it takes in the morning to blow dry (20 minutes if i use my flat iron).

So, I am not a hair expert, and Renata and Taylor might say differently, but this is my experience with my own hair:

I have also found that I need to be careful with texturizing and layering. Too little and my hair gets weighed down and flat. Too much and my hair is one big ball of flyaways. The first style seems like a bit too much layering and wispy-ness to me. It would also require a flat iron.

The second one is beautiful on thick hair (I can see Asian hair rocking this style), but I am not so sure about it for fine hair. The layers would be too long for me.

Obviously not all fine hair is the same and you may have a different experience, which is why it is impossible to tell without a clear picture.

FWIW my fringe is growing on me. I went in with a pair of scissors and cut it a little heavier myself, and I'm much happier with it. I actually prefer a thick fringe to a fine, wispy, or separated one. It makes my hair look thicker and has more edge and makes me feel less like I should be an evening news anchor. No pomade for me.

Sarah's hair is really cute on her, but it doesn't work for me. I've had a couple different incarnations of it and it's never looked good. (plus, I really don't want to go that short.)

I don't really like either of these cuts for you. Have you seen Sarah's hair? It's kind of a blunt bob with layers and a side swept bang. I think something like that would work for you.

I am b.o.r.e.d. with my hair. When I get like this I tend to hem and haw for so long over what to do with it that I get all antsy and end up doing something drastic - like cut off two feet of hair (which I don't have to cut off this time) or go from shoulder length to a pixie (which my husband hated). In all honesty, I kind of like having some length now (it's just past my shoulders in the back) after having it short for quite awhile and I don't want to wait until I get a wild hair and hack it all off! (I've had long hair - at least shoulder length for most of my life but I got the pixie when my son was about 8 months old and then grew it out to chin length and kept it that length until around the time my daughter was born two years ago).

Anyway - back story over. My hair is very, very, very fine and very, very, very straight (I can't even perm the stuff to get it to hold a curl) and has zero volume. I'm also pretty inept at hair stuff. Sometimes I can get it to look okay, but sometimes, nada. I have a pretty high and broad forehead so some kind of fringe is a necessity.

This is basically what my hair is now:
http://www.hair-styles.org/long-hairstyles-42.html (but it never looks that full)

Here are a couple of cuts I've found online that I like, but, as usual, I have no idea if they would work for my hair or not:

http://www.hair-styles.org/med.....es-33.html
http://www.hair-styles.org/long-hairstyles-38.html (although I'm a little skittish about doing thick bangs again).

Any ideas, girls?

ETA: I've been thinking about going a little darker, too, although that may be pointless right now heading in to summer.
