I have hat, gloves and at least one scarf for each of my winter and transitional coats, The accessories stay on the hanger with the coat in a plastic bag or on the hanger. Olive scarves are hard to find. Try Etsy for your hat too. Like really soft, slightly oversized beanies that don't mess up the hair as much and have a cashmere one from EF. It does not have a faux fur pompom but that would probably make it too heavy to stay on.
Target is a good place to look. Sometimes they have cashmere hats, scarves and gloves at bargain prices.

I live in Boston where we just had our first snowfall. Which pretty much means I'm now in the wear-a-hat-scarf-gloves-every-single-day-for-4-months portion of my year. I'm in the market for a new beanie and scarf.

My beanie (oatmeal with olive/brown/gray/gold flecks) from last winter is still serviceable. I'm just kinda sick of it--wearing something every day for 4 months will do that. It's also an acrylic-wool blend and since I'm really into wool these days, I thought maybe I want a 100% wool hat this year. I saw a wool beanie with a fake fur pompom on the Lululemon website that I really liked and had convinced myself wasn't *too* outrageously expensive--$50 for something you wear 7 days a week for 4 months is like 40 cents a day, haha--but when I saw it in-store all the pompoms were flat and misshapen. I mean, the one on the dummy was perfect, so you could apparently steam it back to life or something but if I'm paying 50 bucks for a hat, I don't want to have to do the work myself. So, suggestions for 100% wool beanies, preferably with a pompom, preferably solid black or winter white, $50 max? Or is there some reason I don't want 100% wool that I'm missing?

Now, the scarf situation is this. My main/most used winter scarf is a pea green multi-flecked one that I made myself in 2003 during a brief attempt to learn to knit. It's the only thing that's survived from that period and I am surprisingly *not* sick of it. The yarn is just so unique and pretty and I still get compliments on it all the time. Also, 3 of my winter coats are (I dunno how this happened) some shade of olive so it goes great. However, it's starting to unravel and I don't have the skills to fix the big hole in it. So I probably need a Plan B. Can I see all your current favorite scarfs? Totally open on this because I don't know what I want. Thanks for reading if you made it this far, and thanks for your help.
