Once I was wearing shear stockings with a shirt and flats while shopping. An SA actually got down on the floor for a closer look and still thought my legs were bare. I also use the freezer trick for helping nylons last longer, but do not wet them. I swear it helps. I also wash them in the sink in plain cold water immediately after taking them off and hang to dry over the tub or in the shower. If your stockings are not comfortable, you need to keep trying. I will try the nude micro fishnets and see how they work with my outfits. Some of my skirts/dressese are above the knee, so will experiment with sheer stockings/pantyhose too. It sounds like some of you are saying pantyhose looks better with dressier looks. I would also like to wear my BR tan suede booties with some dresses (swing style) and having worn pantyhose, think maybe micro fishnets would work in those instances. Might even try regular size fishnets. I've personally never been able to wear them because of what I call the "cheese grater" effect - I can feel the texture underfoot and it's really uncomfortable to me, like walking on a cheese grater. I've been keeping an eye out for a couple of years now for micro fishnet footless tights, but I don't think they exist. </p> <p>I wear nude hose for winter dressy events but not for casual wear. Not because I don't like the look but because I have about a 1 in 2 chance of putting a finger through them when putting them on. Not to mention my pointy toes are also hazardous to hose. ;)</p> <p>Anyway in cool but not frigid temps, I'm more likely to wear tall boots with a skirt and bare knees than hose of any sort. I prefer the longevity of the fishnets over hose which I always seem to run (I'm trying the freezer method to see if that helps). My legs are far from perfect and I think the micro fishnets help blur the imperfections.
