I know I can agonise about some event and then when I get there there is such a huge variety of dresses and several things I have might have been fine. My husband would be just like yours but in truth husbands can be more keen on low cut dresses than other attendees! BTW you are gorgeous! Of course I run conservative. But for fundraisers I think there’s a wide tolerance for both folks stepping out in their most glam dresses for fun, so happy to have a “ dress destination “, vs other folks who are along for a ticket or to support the cause or with friends, and maybe don’t have a just the perfect thing on hand. I think it’s important to look dressy and “ make an effort “ to respect the event, hosts, honorees , but it’s ok not to pull out all the stops or wear something that’s not in comfort zone( fashion comfort zone).
