Unfortunately, the sheath cut is one of the hardest to fit on my large, hourglass body. If it zips over my chest, it has no waist definition. If it shows signs of fitting through the torso, the hips are uncomfortably tight...I suspect others no this song too! Add my absolute insistance on a bust-friendly neckline and search got even harder.<br /> So today, while browsing a store that's more high-end than usual, I found this dress and tried it on.<br /> Even though it has a bit more give in the hips, it feels pretty straight-cut to me. I love the neckline, and to me, at least, the little jewel-esque detail under the bustline seems tasteful and interesting rather than obnoxious. Am I right about any of these points? Does the dress look good on me, and if so, have I managed to close that particular wardrobe gap?<br /> The 80% off bargain also made this dress even more appealing, but I'm willing to overlook it if I have to. :)</p> <p>P.S. Discovered a new brand today that totally reinforced Angie's point about quality over quantity. I needed a size up in dress pants, in preparation for the parental capsule and Christmas dinner in the country...I tried on a couple of Lauren by Ralph Lauren pairs that were alright and would have done in a pinch...then I found a pair from Lafayette 148 New York that just blew me away. The crepe-wool blend is thick, substantial and luxurious under the hand. The rise and waist band are perfect. The full lining ensures even better drape. They have no sketchy pocket issues (they may even be pocket free). And they were twice the price, even with the 20% discount). I grappled with it, but I bought the Lafayettes. I'm feeling guilty now, but I suspect I won't down the line. These will be worth altering if necessary, and I'm positive I'll like them for longer and never feel borderline nervous in them. </p>
