That is a good point Danskogirl, I did not consider that open toe shoes in and of themselves may not be appropriate...I think I'm going to ask the mother of the bride about that...I just have no closed toe dressy shoes that I can wear due to my ankle.

And it usually takes me weeks to find new shoes since I have the fussiest feet on the planet so that is not really an option, I just don't have time to shop.

Thanks everyone for the opinions and suggestions, I like the open toe panty hose idea if I can in fact wear the open toe shoes.

Off to gather some more information...

I bring this up since you mention you are concerned about dressing respectfully for the marrying couple: Do you know if open-toed shoes are considered OK to wear in their community?

Another option is to get open toe panty hose. I just found them at Khols, but they have them at Macys too. I got some for a similar reason, bare legs would seem inappropriate at some functions but I love my open toe shoes.

Sure! It might not be your first choice, but in light of the event, I think it's the perfect solution. Luckily it happens to be on-trend to wear hose and tights with sandals right now.

Going bare-legged may be more stylish, but I'd say in the name of comfort and respect to go ahead and wear (sandalfoot) hose with a nice pedicure.

Would fishnet/textured hose, still nude in colour, be too risque? I think it would look more deliberate from a style perspective, if you found something that would work with your outfit...

I have a wedding to attend in a couple of weeks, and because the couple marrying are Orthodox Jewish I prefer to wear nylons in order to be dressed respectfully.
Unfortunately a recently sprained ankle means I cannot wear my closed toe dressy shoes as the heel is too high.
I have the the shoes pictured below which are lower heeled and should be comfortable enough.
Can they be worn with nylons (nude coloured) or does the peep toe and open heel mean bare feet only?
Thanks for any input.
