I think they're fine at work but I'd pair with a blazer or something else with structure on top.

These look fine for most workplaces. Add a blazer for more conservative offices.

Black pants don't have to set the world on fire! They just need to drape and fit well. Yours are doing that for you. Best wishes on the job hunt!

They look like Ponte pants in the photo. Add a silky top, blazer and pointy toes and you'll make them work just fine.

Agree with Glory. They look like ponte pants to me… which may work well for work purposes. I think it is all in how you style them. I, too, have a bootcut pair of ponte pants. I like to wear them with a drapey knit top and a more structured blazer. The bit of added structure makes me more comfortable that the pants are not reading as "gear".

They look like the ponte style pant more than a yoga pant. From what I can see in the pic I feel they could work well in the "survival" capsule.

There are a couple of girls from my work that are both about 40 and recently purchased and wear very similar pants.

I've had these trousers for a while, and I've never been able to decide whether they are supposed to be yoga pants or the ubiquitous plus-size ladies' stretch pants. I bought them on a clearance sale rack where everything was jumbled together, so I'm not sure what department they came from. There are no clues on the label.

They are very plain mid-grey heavy weight jersey, with a nice drape, they are long enough to wear with a low heel, and they fit pretty well. The boot cut style is perhaps a bit dated but I'm not too worried about that right now.

I threw them on here with a long-ish top, which is probably how I would wear them in a hypothetical office situation (plus accessories and a topper). They are rather frumpy in this incarnation but I'm trying to shop my closet to put together a "survival" work capsule in case I happen to get a job in the near future.

What do you think? Am I delusional?
