I would shorten them a bit, for practicality and safety, but I think I'd stick with a longer length (as Angie said, 2-3 inches above the ankle) rather than shorter. I will take them to a tailor and see what she says and how much she estimates alternations. I got them last summer in Zara on deep discount for about 8 euros, I considered them fun experiment. Not sure yet how much I want to invest in them. Simple alteration for a tailor to remove some of the waistband fabric, add a couple of darts and even replace the elastic. </p> <p>I like them with the striped top. I have amassed a non-so-small capsule of cross-seasonal cropped tops for my rapidly increasing number of high waisted pants (and one skirt) and it makes dressing so easy.</p> <p>Re hacking, it depends on how that length works for you. Personally I love the length. That’s how I like to wear mine. They are linen and very comfortable in a heat and I did wear them few times last summer. But somehow I am not sure if I still want to wear them - they are in a holding zone at the moment. Can they be saved? Should I hack them to more manageable length? If you like them as they are do you have any styling ideas for casual high summer? Or should I just go ahead and donate them? </p>
