With a teenage son and a husband who always seem to drop half their dinner on their shirts, I can get out darned near any stain, but shrink something other than jeans intentionally...not a clue! I do hope you find a solution, because the top is fabulous.

It is rayon and will probably shrink in length. I always plan for shrinkage when purchasing rayon. Oh, And I put it in the washer and dryer, take it out while warm and any wrinkles fall right out.

Marmee, you may be right that taking it to a tailor may be a better option. There are no sleeves on it, so it would be an easier alteration than some. I'll have to think about it more...the material is extremely stretchy, and I'm worried that even if the tailor makes the shirt smaller, it will stretch out during the day and I'll be back where I started.

I need to move to a country where everyone is around five feet tall so I have more clothing options. :^)

Sending much sympathy. I find that even when petite tops are shorter, things like yokes aren't as much smaller as they need to be.

It's really hard to imagine that it will shrink right. What about taking it to a tailor?

I ordered this top from Macy's:

http://www1.macys.com/shop/pro.....?ID=137151

I ordered it in petites' and in the smallest size available. However, it is too long, both in overall length (it goes all the way to my crotch) and in the depth of the cutout (it falls right in the middle of my [nonexistent] bust). So the top is a little risqué, shall we say. (Why people can't understand that petites generally need shorter tops, I'll never know.)

I really like the top and am wondering what you think about whether I should risk trying to shrink it. The fabric content is 95% rayon, 5% spandex. Instructions are machine wash cold gentle cycle, tumble dry low. I know that rayon generally has a reputation for shrinking pretty well. Have any of you tried to shrink rayon items? The fabric is medium weight (it's not that really thin rayon), in case that matters.
