That's what I wear unless the style is cut particularly small, and I've never found any there when I've checked online. I have lucked into a few narrow-fitting 30 DDs at Rack. Mostly I'm stuck ordering online or going to the expensive bra boutique near my house. </p> <p>I had never thought of having bra bands altered, so I will have to keep that in mind. My sales associate works in lingerie/intimates normally and helped me get fitted to the right cup size but too big of a band, and brought in alterations to see if they could improve the fit. After trying it for a few days (and putting it through a wash) I'm very satisfied and just ordered 2 more. However, I agree w/others about fitting and risk of buying online as bra fit is so unique to the individual. The Betsey Johnsons in my size just didn't work at all. If you can pop into a store and try, that would be ideal. </p> <p>Kari, I saw your rec on tailoring in an earlier thread and thought that's just a brilliant idea. There are a few great bras there that come in small band and large cup size combos. I can also tell you Nordstrom will tailor your bra band for a reasonable cost. I fit my bras to the cup to get the best support, then get their tailoring dept. to take the bra band in a bit. Last year they did such a great job that it actually doubled the useful life of my favorite Chantelle Rive Gauche bra (part of the annual sale.)
