Those are really good ideas, Maya and I appreciate them...but my hair is short and will barely even stay behind my ears (which DH dislikes that way) and the back is so short it comes to my hairline, while the sides are longer and very heavy, pushing everything forward and the side bang is so flat and heavy I feel like Im peeking out to see, while it actually isnt in my eyes- just feels like I have a heavy, flat hat on- aarrrgghh!

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with your hair, BM. Can you clip it back or pin it somehow for now? Change up the parting? Play around with the texture? I try to take bad haircuts as an opportunity to experiment.

I friend had heavily layered hair that looked good... if you trimmed it every two weeks. Layers are a hard style to keep up with and I think that if you got a bad 'do, the best thing to do is let it grow out and keep returning to the hair salon every couple of weeks to have your hairdresser fix it out. (:

Well, I got it fixed..a little. It will take more than one time to get it back to how it was, but its a little better....NEVER again will I assume the 'regular' stylist remembers how I like it, even when she assures me she does! Thanks again to everyone for your kindness and help with my problem

Best of luck! I'm in the process of growing out a bad bob too. The stylist cut the layers way to short in the back. The shortest layers (at the top) were only 3ish inches from my crown of my head and looked ridiculous b/c my hair is so light & fine that they tended to float up.This weekend or the next I'm going to see if I can get it fixed.

I am so sorry about your bad haircut! I know you usually love your hair and you must be devastated by this turn of events. Because you have the wedding fast approaching, I would not bother to go back to the salon where you received the cut in the first place. Contact the one stylist whom you trust the most right now and beg him/her to "fix" this for you. A good stylist (like Taylor) will see the problem and be able to correct it as much as possible. Then do your make-up to perfection and wear a smashing outfit and enjoy the wedding!

Oh how I hate a bad hair cut! This sounds more like she gave you a bad hair cut than that there was a misunderstanding about what you wanted. If someone gave me a bad haircut, I wouldn't let them touch my hair again. Growing out bad layers is no fun. Would it be possible to have your hair professionally styled for the wedding rather than getting a full-on cut again? In my experience letting it grow a little and then going to someone competent is faster in the long run to getting the hair you want, although the in-between time is hard. I am sure Taylor is right that someone good could improve the current situation, if you really feel confident in this other person. I am suspecting not, because otherwise you would have gone to her in the first place, right? When I was traveling a lot and having different people cut my hair it took a bad turn. I found someone good to sort it out, but she told me it would take at least three hair cuts before she had my hair back in shape. She was right.

I think it's more important for your stylist to have a go at fixing your hair so you are happy. Better that than going elsewhere next time..I would at least call and see what options you have...It sounds like just bringing up the length could help (I think I have had a similar bad haircut) You could say you thought you could work with it and have realized a little late that you can't, please help!

I know I should, but Im afraid she'd get in trouble if I did..she was at another salon for 6 yrs and just started working there....its also a white-knuckle commute to the other side of town. Im thinking of going to my original salon and see if the lady who took over while my stylist was on maternity leave could fix it...she's pretty good too - I had her cut my hair a few times. Just hate to pay for 2 cuts, but I'd rather do that then get the girl in trouble.....

oh, that's tricky then. I'm not sure I understand the logic of having to call within 5 days. I'ts not like you're trying to get a free haircut after just 10 days. I think I'd still call and just tell them you were hoping it would work itself out in a week and it didn't.
