Tricia, I'd say a definite no on this sweater... Sorry.

This shape is ALL about the fabric. If it drapes well, it will hug the bust in a flattering way when the buttons are un-done (on top). If its nasty fabric, the shape is a no-no making your girls look like torpedos. I hope that makes sense.

Well, you could undo the top buttons, but in my experience, that can look a little sloppy, especially with those darn gathers. I share the frustration - I get so tired of always wearing a v-neck - but I think it really is the best for those of us with this ... issue.

I don't know--I think that if you had the top three buttons undone it might hide the gathers and then the top would be okay. It's tough to know without trying it out, though.

I have to agree with QM - the pleating right above the breast is like a flashing lights frame for "the girls". Sorry.

I agree with QueenMum. The thing that makes it a no-go is the gathers above the bust. I've never had success with that - it makes my bust look even bigger. I like the color a lot, though.

Oooh, I hate that feeling. I have that with a photo from college where I'm wearing a pair of pleated khakis. I weighed all of 110 pounds at the time and those khakis still made me look fat.

That's enough for me to pass this one by!

I know that is a sweater that *I* would not consider. The gathering above the bust plus the rounded neckline is just too much roundness for me ;-)
as a matter of fact, we have a family picture on the wall in which I'm wearing a top with a very similiar neckline (gathers included) and I cringe every time I see it.

I generally avoid higher necklines but I'm looking at this red cropped cardigan from Red Dress Shoppe - I like it because it's cut shorter and closer to be worn over skirts and dresses. But I'm not sure if I can wear it with this neckline - although I wouldn't wear it all buttoned up like this. What do you think?
