I have the pale sunny yellow one and it looks great with Navy (which I seem to have a lot of). I do wear white a lot (since I try not to wear black) so I might get the green cami to wear under my white stuff. Hmm...I'll have to take a look.

Thanks, Antje.

Cool. The Express camis I bought are the light blue (not quite aqua, which I would have preferred, but I think still a nice contrast to the dark blue of the dress, and the color is pretty flattering on me as I have blue eyes) and the pale sunny yellow.
I had two green camis in my hand as well, both the bright green -which I really liked- and a lighter green. I consulted with one of the sales ladies and held the camis up against a dark blue item (I didn't have the dress with me), and we decided that the bright green looked too stark against the dark blue. It's a great color, but might be better paired with white (which I personally don't wear much of). In the end I decided against both of the greens, which was wise as I liked the J. Jill colors MUCH better. J. Jill has some colors in camis, and some in the tanks, which are also a great choice for under the dress.
Have fun cami shopping

Antje, I was looking at the Citron and lime green camis from J. Jill to go with the shirt dress as well! I haven't had a chance to to try them yet, but now I'll definitely make a point to get over to those two places tomorrow. What colors did you end up getting from Express? I'm thinking about the bright green cami and maybe the bright pink or cheetah print cami. My dress is at the alterations place and will be done by Tuesday. Now all I need are some bright shoes and I'll be set. I can't wait!

Thanks for the update!

I found my camis tonite! I browsed a few stores at the mall, and bought two camis at Express (fresh arrival, many colors, 2 for $29; unfortunately not v-neck but still fine), and one at J. Jill. The J. Jill one is the best; they had really great colors, including different shades of green (a pale lime, a grassy green, a citron like yellow/green), and I know their camis and tanks hold up quite well. $24.50. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else is looking.

Now, with my ink blue shirt dress, three bright camis, and two pairs of bright flats (yellow and lime green), plus my Target wrap dress and wrap top, I feel I got a great wardrobe update and am ready for spring. The weather forecast predicts 67 degrees in Seattle this weekend, so maybe I'll get to wear my new spring outfits Done shopping for a while...

Hi Nicole,

I always have to wear a bra under the bra camis, even though I'm a 36C, they just don't hold me up as well I'd like. My problem is in the summer when it's hot, and my girls are all squished in the bra inside a bra cami. It gets kind of sticky (sorry, it's gross, I know) and I really hate that feeling. Not to mention I get kind of a uniboob thing going. Oh well, we all have our crosses to bear in order to look fab.

This is great ladies, thank you so much. Tanya, that first one from Redoute is perfect! Nicole, I like the cut and colors of the Kohl ones but it's a ribbed knit; I'd like it plain.

How about this yellow one from LaRedoute ( yellow is the only color left)?

This one comes in aqua/yellow/white, but it does have a bit of lace:
http://www.us.redoute.com/clot.....haseType=0

These are the perfect camis for me: v-neck, I love the ruching (makes for a flattering fit), otherwise plain and simple, and some great colors, esp. the citron and grass: http://www.herroom.com/honeyde.....004,4.html

Thanks everyone for the pointers! Nicole, Bare Necessities was a great tip. I had recently bought underwear from them, but it hadn't occured to me that this might be a good source for camis as well. They have a lot of choices and I think I'll find something there, at least in some of the colors (though possibly not for some of the trendiest colors).

Becky, thanks for the LL Bean link as well. In general I find LL Bean's cuts a bit conversative, so my hunch is that the v neck doesn't go very low, and I don't want too much of the cami or tank to peek out. But they sure have nice colors!

Thanks for the link, Becky!

Those LL Bean ones might work for the dress, Antje, since the length of the camisoles wouldn't be as important with the styling of the dress. I wonder how far down the V neck reaches?

There are lots of colors that would look awesome with the inky blue. My favorites are the lemon, pale lime and jade green.

L.L. Bean has stretch pima v-neck tanks in a variety of colors for $19.50 each:

Ana, have you ever worn a cami with a shelf bra over your regular bra? I do this all the time and it really doesn't seem to make a difference whether there's a shelf or not.

Antje, Have you checked sites that sell under garments? (Like FigLeaves and Bare Necessities?) I've had luck finding excellent quality cami's at those kinds of sites.

Yeah, I have the same problem with finding camis that don't have a built in bra. Express really does have a great selection of colors season after season, but I've never been a huge fan of them because of the shelf bra. I'll let you know if I find anything else.

The only camis I've found that have a V shape have lace detailing around the neckline as well. Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but I bought a light lime green V neck tank (not a cami--it had broader straps) at Express a couple of days ago. They also had one in aqua. BR has some lace lined V neck camis also:

http://www.bananarepublic.com/.....=552489002

I bought one in a pretty lavender color yesterday. I haven't seen any plain V neck camis, though. I will keep an eye out for any and let you know.

I need some camisoles in bright spring colors (I'm thinking yellow, citron, lime green, acqua) as layering pieces. I prefer camisoles with a pronounced v-shaped neckline rather a neckline that is straight or slightly dipping; unfortunately, v-neck camis are much rarer than the other kind. I also like the fabric to have some heft to it, rather than the flimsy kind (e.g. Old Navy) that feels more like underwear. I hope these descriptions make sense. And finally, I'm hoping to pay under $20, definitely not more than $25 per cami.

I went to a few stores last week, including Express, the Loft, and took a very cursory look at Nordy's (including the BP department, where I found v-neck camis last year), but didn't find what I was looking for. Has anyone bought camis in fresh new colors recently and can point me to stores or online sources? Thanks!
