Several years ago, I read an article by a model..don't remember who...and one of her favorite buys was camis..men's fruit of the loom..So, being the sheep that I can be, I tried them...Let me tell you, that is all I buy...a medium men's..so they will always be long enough...I wear them under everything..to bed, for summer, winter...These are my favorites..long enough for my tall self and so comfortable after so many washings...and the price can't be beaten...

I second the WHBM recommendation. I have several of those in black and white. The black stays blackedy-black and doesn't go gray the way black cotton camis do. Also, the neckline on them is just right. (My other go-to is the BP cotton stretch camis from Nordstrom -- I have a ton of them and wear them a lot, but I do find the spaghetti straps a little long for me.)

White House/Black Market makes camis that look similar to the shimera ones. I've worn them for >5 years and they don't roll up. Sturdy fabric, straps slightly wider than bra strap. The description at this link says square neck but it is more a scoop (not sure about linking this on my iPhone but here goes):

i like the shimera tanks, but my new fav is this one that i found during NAS. love the fit, for me the length is perfect, and i really like the fit. its not really as shaper, even thought its made by a shaper brand. but its not a cami you can wear on its on.

Joyce, I looked at the info and the shimera looks almost exactly like the one at Ricki's that I linked. It the ones available in Canada don't work out, I might order that one.

Lisa, I can't remember trying the Jockey cami but know I have worn their underwear. I will check those as well. Thanks

Cheryl - have you ever tried Jockey's camis? I have a few from the Gap too, but most of them roll up on me and make me crazy. The Jockey ones are a looser fit, and hang on the body , rather than cling to it. I quite like them. I'll have to check out the Ricki's version too...

This is the one that Angie likes. I got some but have not tried them yet.

There was a thread in the last week about camis. I did a search but wasn't able to find the original post so am starting a new thread. I apologize to the original poster.

The concern regarding camis was that many of them roll or ride up which makes them a challenge for layering. I remember thinking this was me too when I read the thread. I have a gap black cami that works quite well for this but don't think they make that particular one any longer. This week I was rummaging for a cami for under a surplice top and found one I bought at Ricki's a few years ago. It is a nylon/spandex blend with a smooth surface so it doesn't cling to the next layer, has lots of stretch, wider tank straps for bra coverage and is light weight. The only downside is that it is a small fit. I usually wear a S or M in tops and checked and the one I have in this tank is a L. If I have time later today, I am going to go pick up a few more in nude and white.

Thought I would share in case any other Canadians are on the hunt for basic layering camis.
http://www.rickis.com/seamless.....ry#start=1
