Michelle I have these and they are a great neutral as others have said. I think our colouring is similar and I tend not to go for 'golden' tones but these work well because of the throw to grey. And as you say they are comfortable big time...

I think these are a great color for you. Not nude for you, but low to medium contrast. I have some shoes this color and I love how the gold skews warm but the gray undertones pick up any cool color I want to wear.

Liz explained it well. I think it is a good and flattering colour for you, Michelle -- almost but not quite a "nude for you" and most certainly a neutral -- they are more "antiqued" than "shiny" gold -- and I agree with what Ummlila said that they would work best with light coloured or medium toned outfits, given your darker hair, or paired with another light coloured accessory.

When I saw this colour in the shop, it registered as a speckled mix of dark gray, taupe, and gold, not a nude shade. I ended up buying the solid, light-gray Abbey because I wasn't sure how easy it would be to work with the speckled look. BUT, a few weeks later, I purchased a Munro sandal with a very similar finish to the ones you have. That speckled mix works with almost any color combination I can throw at it, with the added bonus of bookending darker hair better than a beigey nude. It lightens up my black/white combos, my cobalt blues, and my deep fuchsias, but grounds my whites, pastels, and beiges.

I like them better on you than I did in the stock photo. They look metallic and a gold/bronze tone. A good neutral.

I like the color. It depends what you had in mind though.

When I was looking for a pair of "nude for me" flats, I had to look awhile to find some that were pinky beige in a blend-in way. I found them, (I never wear them but that is maybe another story.)

So these are a neutral, but not a blend in with your skin neutral. Neither are they high contrast. Since your hair is on the darker side I would think it would make sense to wear these with more mid tones and not darker dramatic looks (which I think are your usual forte.)

The color looks pebbled or crackled, with dark gray or black undertones in the "cracks." Where the light catches on a surface, they have a golden sheen. Where they are more matte, I think the dark mottled undertones look grayish in the photo, and probably read as gray to your app. However, I think that's just the photo struggling to capture the differences in light and surface. I really doubt that they look gray in real life.

I think they look fine with your skin tone (they are darker than your skin), but then, I don't think I've ever looked at a shoe color and thought it looked bad against someone's skin, so that must be a nuance I'm just not sensitive to.

I can see how your app might have picked up gray from the "pearlized" color. But they do not read gray at all. I think they go great with your skintone.

Lila, is that a good thing or a bad thing? :p Do these read like a crackled gold like some of the other ladies said? Do they read as a neutral on me?

They do look golden taupe. The color accentuates a pink tone in your skin.

So I finally received the Abby slingback booties I ordered, and sweet merciful lord are they comfortable! The thing I want to check now is how my chosen shade looks on my skin tone.
I ordered the golden taupe colour, but the app I have that describes pictures I take informed me that these were gray. True or false? If false, what colour do these look like with my pale skin?
Thanks ladies.
