I don't mean this to be a hijack, and I shared this info on Una's post, but those who like or are looking for colored denim may find it of interest:

Have not seen those, but I hope you are able to learn more about them. They look great -- you have some awesome cobalt jeans, right?

In case anyone is interested, I bought a pair of cobalt jeans on Saturday that I wore for the first time today, and I think they rock, though I fear the length may not be to everyone's taste. :)

They would be a nice ankle length on most women. Surprisingly, they are the NYDJ brand. I typically have found this brand to look dowdy on me...but these do not. They don't have the super low rise that many of the brightly colored jeans seem to have, and I have been looking and trying for quite some time. I bought the blue and red and am waiting for the red UOs (ala Jonesy) to arrive for comparison. Oddly, I cannot find these NYDJs on the Nordstrom website or anywhere else online -- but they were in my store. The tag just refers to them as NYDJ/Ankle, if anyone is interested. Great fabric. Great stretch. Just what I have been looking for.

Always lots of discussion about having fun with fashion here. For me, these are really fun.

I have not washed mine yet, Lena. I'm hoping they don't shrink - that would be a shame.
All of my denim did - about an inch at least - but that is stretchy fabric, and the pants are not. Fingers crossed!

Ladies who own the JBrand pants: have you washed them and do they shrink in length at all? Mine are barely long enough and I would prefer not to lose any length.
(I'm testing the red)

Una, thanks! You're right that our bottom halves seem to be quite opposite with our curves and straight parts.

Your Current Elliott's look incredible on you so I hope that means the JBrands will work for me. . .

I have seen these on others here and loved them. However, they did not fit me well at all. You have the advantage of owning a pair of pants that also did not fit me so well, so here's the details: they were too stiff and too tight in the waist, but the calves were too baggy. And they fit weirdly in the rise for me. I agree they run small, and I saw very little difference between the 27 and the 28. I also did not love the twill material. They did not have much give, but I didn't keep them long enough to know if they would stretch. My feeling is that these would work on you for the reasons they did not work on me (I have a straight waist and no butt or calves!).

I ended up with the current/elliott version of these, which just happened to fit much better and are more denim.

Thanks so much, Sarah! It's reassuring that they didn't stretch. There's always one online review where someone says they stretched out and then I get worried!

I am so excited for them (and hope you'll post lots of ways to wear them in the fall/winter too ;-)

I was tempted by the Inez, but the closest size left was a 28, and I think that would lose the relaxed fit by squeezing into a 28. You look so adorable in yours!!

Hi, Sorry I didn't see this till now. :)
I typically wear a size 29 in J Brand, but I have the cobalt twill skinnies (the ones you linked to) in a 30. They are NOT stretch at ALL.
The Inez fit great in a 29 because you want them to be a bit slouchy.
Does that help?
I have cigarettes, Babes, and Love Story (all by JBrand) in size 29.

Thanks, Mo and Marley for the input. It's the getting stretched out part that worries me, so your jeans give me hope! I have only one pair of J brand straight leg that I think I bought too small, they did not stretch out either, come to think of it, so that's why I never wore them :-(

I couldn't resist when I saw 30% off at tobi.com, so I ordered the larger of my usual two sizes. I certainly do NOT want them to fit as snug as the models wear!! But I'm hoping I'm impressed with them.

(morethanbeige - the discount is thru the 11th, but I actually asked Nordstrom to price match and they were wonderful about it.)

I'd still love to hear about any other J brand Skinny experiences. . .

I have the J.Brand cobalt skinnies and LOVE them. Here's what I can tell you about the size: they run small - I had to go up one size. They have a midrise - hit me about an inch below my belly button. I dont' think they are very stretchy - I've probably worn mine at least a dozen times this summer so far, and they have not stretched out at the knee or butt. They are very comfortable to me - I'd like to get another pair in a different color - but its just not in the budget!

I don't own colors but I do own black J Brand zip ankle skinnies. They are snug enough on my thighs that I do have to hitch them up a few times a day. Not much stretch over the course of the day (in the black at least) and I do find them to be slightly lower rise. Hope some blue owners chime in for you!

I am seriously considering jumping on this bandwagon, and need your fit/comfort expertise. tobi.com has them and they are 30% off now. . .
http://www.tobi.com/product/40.....r_id=50618

How is the sizing? I am SO tired of tight jeans that the SAs say will stretch out, and I do NOT need to have every middle-aged bulge of mine tightly hugged, but how have yours ended up?

How would you describe the rise? I am also tired of rises that I have to adjust when I sit down and pull up when I get up. How are these?

I have small waist, but generous hips, thighs, and calves; so skinnies are tricky. . .

Thank you so very much, ladies ;-)

P.S. TX Sarah - are your super cool J Brand chinos the Inez in vintage navy? How are those for fit?
