When DS#1 was little (and even now, really) he was extraordinarily tall and thin when compared to his age mates. It was very hard to get slim clothes that were long enough in the legs and arms. But, for about 5 years I was the beneficiary of a biannual bag of hand me downs from a mom with a similarly built boy 2 years older than mine. I joked that I should pay her a finders fee for the clothes, which were perfect (lLevis super slims, etc). DS admired the older boy, so no issues with the clothes. I have been absolutely bumfuddled since discovering a Celine Edge bag, brand new with tags, at the local Goodwill here in the middle of farm country Texas.</p> <p>On my break at work today, I was standing in line to buy a few things when a woman ran up to the register with some tea. She realized that her husband had already completed his transaction and it was someone else's turn to check out. I was in uniform, so I told her to go ahead of me. As I watched her checking out, I noticed she was carrying a Louis Vuitton bag, and I don't mean swap-meet-Louis, either. At that moment, I looked at her husband again, and he was wearing a polo shirt embroidered with the name of a country club golf course from down the road about an hour away. This couple either retired up here or has a weekend house on the local lake just outside of town, so now I'm pretty sure I have solved the mystery of how a Celine Edge bag came to be at our local goodwill. It also explains how a Jill Sander cashmere tank came to be there, and several other head-scratching scores from the goodwill shop (like all the AG and 7 for all Mankind jeans I have seen on the racks).</p> <p>Now that I know this, I know to go to our local Goodwill often and regularly, because you never know when she might drop off another box of amazing scores for me. </p>
