Ehhh...I don't know. If they are exactly what you're looking for, and there is free shipping and free returns! That's tough.

I know ASOS has a lot of horror stories, but I have personally never experienced any. I'm sure for every horror story they have, there are at least 50 transactions that go perfectly smoothly. At least.

I guess I am biased because I did this recently with a pair of Camper sandals. Like you, I wasn't sure about the whole sizes, but the 36 was sold out and there was only one 37 left. I was mentally preparing myself to be disappointed and end up returning them..but to my surprise, they ended up fitting. They were exactly what I wanted, and they were on sale...it was just too good an opportunity to pass up, and I'm glad I didn't. I guess in my case it was an easier decision since it was Zappos and I didn't even have to think twice about the customer service.

Thank you everyone! I've decided to give the shoes a miss. Rae, I'm reading that, and it sounds awful. I have had a pretty good experience with them, so maybe I've been lucky. I've emailed a question about a product and got a reply within the hour and I've had good luck returning things. I love the free shipping both ways too. But yeah, it's disturbing that there are absolutely no phone numbers on the site and that they rely on email. I wonder why they have chosen to be so elusive?

Greenglove recently posted an ASOS return horror story.
http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/asos-issues

Plus, online retailers are kind of notorious for getting measurements wrong or measuring from odd places.

I would vote nay unless you are ok with reselling or dealing with a returns headache if they don't work out.

I agree....also 1/2 size really isnt much of a difference. If it feels a bit too loose, try thick socks (if you wear socks with these) or some insoles will take up a bit of room.

ASOS has free returns, so I don't think you have much to lose, and I find that whole-size-only shoes often run a bit small.

I have my eye on some ASOS-brand shoes, but sadly they only come in whole sizes. I'm a US 7½. If I were to buy them, I would size up and get 8. (I actually used to think I *was* an 8 until I realized that 7½ fit more snugly.) The shoes are exactly the style I've been looking for. Should I risk it, or is it a bad idea to buy shoes online in the first place?
