But I'm with Adelfa on the "I'm not the biggest fan of black" sentiment. Since you're not time pressed to find a special occasion dress, maybe casually look around for some in colors you love? Or, maybe you could buy a sparkly top to go with the black lace skirt that you already have, if you think that would be dressy enough.
