If there is one thing that kills a look on me, it is too much non drapy bulk on the rib cage. I layer some pieces with silk tops if I want that shirt tail look (I did a mint green silk sleeveless with my dark blue flower print sweater last weekend so that there would be a different color between the sweater welt and my navy blue pants) or sometimes a long cami. I don't feel the collar is needed.
