Yes, my shirts went back yesterday as well. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of customer service at the Sears/Landsend counter.

As far as the ambience - yes, it is nothing special. But where I live, there is no Nordstrom so most of our department stores look similar to Sears (minus the useful stuff like lawn mowers and dishwashers). I very rarely buy clothes in brick and mortar department stores these days.

I love that plum shirt on you!

BTW I took my LE shirts back today. Boy Sears was a throwback. Not exactly the most modern or pleasant shopping ambiance. No wonder all their stores are closing!

I have liked Eddie Bauer wrinkle-resistant shirts. They are a nice substantial yet soft fabric that I've never had to iron. They're on sale now, too.

Don't settle! If these are a bit boxy and pale, keep looking. You deserve to feel AND look fab (just do laundry more often until you find good shirts). The plum one is beautiful on you, BTW.

You're onto something with the paleness! That last pic of you in the plum shirt is SO much better than the two LE ones.

I have tried on all sorts of LE shirts and they were all just too boxy for my curves. I think that might be the case for you too.

If ONE $12 shirt feels like FFB insurance -- then maybe! Otherwise check out Ann Taylor and elsewhere before you spend $12 on something you never reach for. . .

P.S. If you do check out Brooks Brothers, they have up to 40% off when you order four shirts. . .thru 1/4, I think

I haven't tried the Brooks Brothers' shirts yet but when I was looking at their shirts online, I came across Thomas Pink website that also has nice, high-end button downs. I got a few shirts from that site but only kept one (here is a not-so-sharp picture of that shirt). I definitely feel much better in that shirt, although it does require a lot of ironing because I don't like putting it in a dryer. I believe I tried BR shirts once and they gaped at the front.

I think it is a combination of a boxy fit and very pale, somewhat blah colors that is making me doubt these. On the other hand, these shirts are only $12 each and no-iron so I was thinking that it might be nice to keep one of them for those mornings when I don't have anything ironed and need a "safe" option.

It's been my experience over the years that Lands End makes nice stuff, but it tends to be frumpy. The blouses look nice enough, but I think you could find some that make you feel fabulous! I like the paisley print though

You can do better. I've slowly weeded out the just not up to snuff shirts and many of them were Landsend. I have a nice one from Landsend Canvas which has a more modern cut. I also like the Foxcroft shirts and JCrew perfect fit. Much more modern looking and when you can snag them at a sale plus discount they are a good addition to any wardrobe.

They look fine, but not great in my humble opinion. I do think its important to "feel" good in them so if you don't you wont wear them. I love paisley but I think the coloring here is too bland for you. Agree with Coco Lion, that perhaps tucked my work better. All in all, I am not sure and think you could find better:)

Very interesting CocoLion about the Costco shirts!
I do like the Foxcroft shirts and they come in a few different shapes and sizes.
I tried the Brooks Brothers shirts and they are way to short for me and don't make them longer unless special made.

I think they're fine but might look better tucked in. I believe they will soften with washing. Those no-iron shirts are pretty stiff, but I still wear them. I have purchased a few of them from Costco for work, and I like them. Have you tried Costco? The shirts are under $20, come in different colors. I like the ones with 3/4 sleeves.

That's exactly how I felt when I first put them on - frumpy and stiff. I was going to return them immediately but then realized that some of my softer shirts (that have a lot of synthetic fibers in them) are getting very staticky and clingy with the dry winter air. That's when I thought that perhaps a stiffer, more structured shirt might be good for the winter.

I have some Ann Taylor shirts - you are right that they usually fit better. Perhaps I'll try those again.

I have generally been most happy with silk shirts so far so maybe I should stick to those.

They look all right on you although maybe a tad boxy. It's hard to tell with the blazer over it. But how do they feel to you? I just ordered the same LE paisley print shirt in pink but I don't like it. It's really stiff feeling and I don't like wearing it at all! I felt very frumpy when I put it on so it's going back ASAP. I guess I'm spoiled by my Anne Fontaine shirts and there's no going back, LOL. Have you tried Ann Taylor or Banana Republic instead? Their shirts seemed to be softer. Or Nordstrom sells button down shirts by Foxcroft that Angie has recommended--I haven't tried them but maybe you should check them out.

I was looking to replace some old button down shirts I use for teaching days. I ordered a few shirts from Lands End (no-iron fitted shirts) and returned them because they looked really stiff. However, I tried the same shirts in a different size, and they seem to fit a bit better. I am still not 100% happy but I think they might work. Any thoughts on these, especially on the paisley print (#2)? Does it look too wacky?
