I had a standard poodle with Addison's and gave her injections at home. It saved so much money. I learned so much from the Addison's Facebook group and recommend joining. https://www.facebook.com/groups/AddisonsDogs/

It is horrible when your pet gets sick. Bijou and Margot (my westies) are sending licks to Buster.

JAileen's tip on getting pills eaten is a good one. My girls like a pill in a small square of cheese.

I’m glad Buster is feeling better. We had a dog that needed a pill in the morning and in the evening. I bought hot dogs and sliced them up, and pushed the pill in. Then when I gave it to her, she wanted it and gulped it down. Easiest thing in the world. I sliced up the whole package of hotdogs, and put them in ziploc bags in the freezer until I needed them.

Brave and strong little Buster. What a sweet and lovely boy.

DeAnna, I know how awful it is when our pets are sick. And they try so hard to be well. At least the disease is manageable and Buster is comfortable. I know a little Yorkie with Addisons, and she is as fiesty as can be. She's had it for years, and you can't tell she's not as healthy as she could be. Sending healing thoughts and hope for a fast recovery to your little guy.

Last weekend we knew our dog Buster did not feel well. He was just so tired so we went to the Emergency animal hospital. They ran a ton of test and he has Addison's. He does not produce enough of the two stress hormones that he needs. He was dehydrated, but drinking plenty of water, his electrolytes were so off the water was just passing through. We got to bring him home Monday and tomorrow we are back to the vet for his first hormone shot, he will need one every 21 days and a daily pill for the rest of his life. He is our baby, and we are so feeling so many emotions.
