Lovely advice ladies! You'll probably do well bringing what we'd wear in Spring Antje. Mesh tops, three quarter sleeve jackets, ballet flats and skirts or dress slacks.

I agree w/Eva....I've been in Florida in the winter. People who live there grow accustomed to the warm weather, so winter temps in Florida may feel warm to you, will feel a little cooler to Floridians. You may see the natives wearing light jackets even though it's 70. (I've also been in Florida in Feb when it didn't much warmer than 55 degrees.) Pack some layers so that you can adjust your outfit based on the temperature, time of day, and activity. A tight knit cardigan will be your best friend! And yes, you can go bare legged.

I am also from Seattle. Last year, I went to San Diego in the late fall for a conference and had the same issue. I wore slacks, structured jackets, and tank or short sleeved tops. Inside and in the evenings I work the jacket, but I could take it off when I went outside (which I did every chance I got to enjoy the sunshine!) I didn't wear linen, but I also didn't wear wool or tweed jackets. Have fun at your conference!

I've got an interesting fashion dilemma at hand: I live in Seattle, so I'm all settled into my winter wardrobe. However, on Wednesday I'm flying out to Miami beach for a conference. I have no idea what to pack/wear! I know it's 80 degrees out there, but I assume the conference will be heavily air-conditioned. I want to wear clothes that are business casual trending towards smart casual.
I'm wondering about a few things:
- What temperature to dress for (how heavily air conditioned will it be inside? E.g., will I be comfortable in skirts and flats with bare legs?)
- Are there "seasons" in hot climates, which would mean there still is a kind of "winter wardrobe" in Miami Beach even if it doesn't mean boots and coats as in Seattle? And then what type of outfits would be comfortable AND stylish?
Thanks for any tips you may have :-)
Antje
