That jacket is chic! Love it! And yes - definitely for comfort! My tummy hates that squished feeling.

Thank you for sharing!

Oooooh you ladies have such awesome advice! Of course: PONTE!!! That lovely magic fabric!

Una: do you tuck or untuck when wearing pencil skirts? Any examples I can look at?

PS. I have some ponte knit laying around and maybe if I have time I can make a few ponte skirts... But yeah... Time is often an issue!

I've worked in the creative/tech business throughout my entire working career. I worked in very casual work environments that had so much leeway and creativity when dressing up for interviews. I'm in the process of becoming a career counsellor and I'm currently taking a job search class where we have to do mock interviews. We will be graded on them - not just on our responses and how we conduct ourselves but also on how we dress.

The career counsellor a here seem to work in primarily business casual/professional environments. This means that the fun skinny pants outfits I've been composing lately will not work. I know that business casual consists of:

Topper + dressy top + dressy bottom (or dress instead of separates)

Professional consists of a suit: pants or skirt suit.

I'm not often comfortable in very dressy outfits, and am often very self conscious because they are usually fitted and tucked: two things I do NOT do given that I'm an IT with apple tendencies.

To all IT's in a business casual or professional setting: what works for you?
