Last time I shopped there I noticed the return policy was very strict. I have some friends who just started working for the company and they said they don't make "customer courtesy" exceptions at all so just be sure you really like the item especially if you are driving a distance and may not be able to get back quickly.

That said - I think I will check for a coat there!

I was looking at that exact Anne Klein Walker coat at Macys this week, for quite a bit more! I loved it, but Hubby thought it was the same cut as a couple of my other coats and was less impressed.

I should stop over at Burlington this week; I usually end up finding coats with uneven sleeves or other damages, but I always try to give it a look once a season. You never know!

Oh I was just thinking that I should check out my nearest one. It's about an hour away, but I am halfway there on Saturday mornings anyway.

So funny, I went to Burlington Coat Factory today too! I tried on the puffers Angie suggested for me but they only had them in white, not black like Angie recommended. I felt weird in the white, like a big marshmallow. The puffer was super puffy, a lot puffier than my Lands End one from last year, and I felt that it made me look a lot wider than I am. It was really warm though! If money wasn't an issue I probably would have gotten it... or ordered the black version.

I also found a really great double breasted wool coat in red plaid with "leather" piping and it was only around $50 and I was SO tempted to get it but was unsure about the plaid. I hate that plaid is so mainstream right now and I don't want to look too "trendy." I walked around with the coat for literally an hour, kept trying it on, but ultimately put it back. Sigh. If I had extra disposable income I probably would have purchased it too.

I also tried on that Larry Levine coat you linked to but in black. Gorgeous coat but didn't fit me well.

But... they had SUCH a selection. You're right, it was a zoo. If you need a coat, this is your destination. I enjoyed schlepping through the racks of coats.

I'm pretty impressed. Made the decision to drive down to the nearest Burlington Coat Factory after seeing Angie's mention to Marianna re: some good parkas/puffer coats.

It was a total zoo - too many racks, and stuff just shoved in all over the place - very hard to actually 'see' anything.

That said, they really do have a *ton* of great parkas/puffer coats. I was surprised. Ended up buying a shorter/cropped simple black Kenneth Cole Reaction down puffer jacket for just $50 and it looks a lot better than some of the other puffer type jackets I've tried in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, another reason I wanted to go and check out Burlington Coat Factory is because I spied this sort of 'interesting looking' coat on Overstock:

http://www.overstock.com/Cloth.....91-000-016

I didn't buy it, mostly because of the colour, but I really liked the looks of it.

Lo and behold, Burlington Coat Factory has the exact same coat in berry or black for $10 less:

http://www.burlingtoncoatfacto.....1_81910384

This is a *good* coat. Unfortunately the shoulders were a little too big on me, and moving up or down a size wasn't going to work - but still, I thought this was an excellent coat for the price, and extremely flattering on. Just a neat coat! The reddish colour really is more of a berry than a burgundy though - think 'cerise' and you have it. I'm still kind of upset that I couldn't get this in black and in a size that would work for me. I tried an 8, and it was actually a bit small-ish on me, and yet the shoulders were way too big. Never mind me though - this is a nice coat...worth a try :)

Meanwhile, here's another good coat I found there: (editing to add: I didn't buy it, but almost did)

http://www.burlingtoncoatfacto.....1_81923164

Just beautiful and the red is a good red, and with the contrasting colour buttons. Very 'lady coat-ish'

In any case, if you're looking for a puffer/parka type coat - this is a good place to look. Like I said though, it's a real zoo - coats jammed in ....rows upon rows. Almost too much to look through.

There were a lot of coats, but unfortunately their website doesn't have a lot of their items online.

I even saw a *fabulous* brownish tweed type of coat that would be perfect for Khris... but alas, it's not on their website.

If you don't mind schlepping through way too many rows of coats, all jammed in haphazardly - to the point where you can hardly see what you're looking for - you might find something really good. Don't even take your purse in there, and don't wear any kind of jacket or coat - leave it in the car, and be prepared to really have to *look*.

Fun though!

I'd do it again
