Ooh, lots of great suggestions to check out -- I'll investigate further when I'm back home. Thank you for the great ideas!

I've never tried a NYDJ jean that worked for me -- the rise seems too high and the cut just seems off to me. I had not seen that R&B or AG made burgundy jeans. Both are particularly intriguing since I liked the fit of the Dre faded blue jeans, just not the fading on the backside. BR pants sometimes work for me too, so that's another one that would be good to try. And those trousers are definitely interesting to me as well!

Hi ladies,

I have these pants from Tibi (http://www.lyst.com/clothing/t.....slim-pant/) which are last year's but may still be around somewhere. If you're familiar with the brand (which is pricey but I buy only markdowns), you'll know that the quality is outstanding and the cut and comfort exceptional. Their bottoms are structured to never lose shape, and are truly worth the investment. They've had burgundy the last couple of years, and their early fall pieces are showing the color, though no pants yet.

If you're considering anything from the line, know that their sizes are very large. (I'm a 6 in high street, and an 8 in designer, but always a 4 in Tibi bottoms.)

And Janet, I took a picture of this painting at our neighbourhood pet supply store for you. It could be Tippie & Sophie!

And here is the same color but in in a bootcut.

Also today I noticed J Jill had an interesting boyfriend style in kind of a chino/denim. They call this color red cardinal but it's a very muted, ashy shade that puts it in the burgundy category.

Not sure what size you are, but I think Uniqlo also has these as well.

Hope this helps.

EDIT to add: I heart NYDJ. I'm tall, like a higher rise (nothing less than 9 or I have muffin top), and the jeans are usually long enough and full enough in the thighs for my runner's legs. I just size up on skinny cuts and I'm a happy girl.

Janet, I have these and love the incredibly deep hue. The color is deeper than in the photo. They are not midrise, but are quite stretchy. So if you start running out of options, you might give them a try! (ps I swore I would never wear this brand, but when Rae put me into them, I had to admit they were perfect!)

Janet: If they don't need to be jeans, I recommend the BR Sloans. Very flattering, available in Tall, nice stretchiness for comfort -- easily dressed up or down. Mine hit just a tad below the belly button.

I'm liking my Lands' End pair (the ones Word Lily linked to). I think their mid-rise might be higher than average for that cut, which is good for me, but they also have what they call a "not-too-low rise" that's slightly shorter.

I like AG a lot, too. They have a burgundy pair on their website. http://www.agjeans.com/the-far.....ry/d/10136 They are calling it high rise, but it doesn't look super high to me.

They also have these culottes-y crops, but I don't like the super high waist.

Thanks for the suggestion, WL. I've never tried LE jeans.

I should also clarify that I prefer a mid rise, which is getting harder to find. High rises don't work on me. My best jean brands are usually AG, Paige (although they seem to be going skinnier in the thigh, dammit), sometimes Kut, Gap, and Lucky brand.

Janet, what are your favorite jeans brands to wear?

Here are some skinnies by Lucky, in their Brooke mid-rise cut. I have tried on the Brooke and didn't like it as well as the Sweet Jean on me. But they might be worth a try for you.

I passed along my old pair of nice burgundy skinnies because I bought them at my skinniest and when tighter fits were trending. I'd love to find a new pair -- either a bootcut/flare or relaxed skinny/straight. Not sure if these AE would work on me, but based on past AE jeans try-ons, it's doubtful (too tight on thigh, too short inseam).

If anyone sees any great burgundy jeans that might be good to try, I welcome recommendations!
