Congratulations kimlee, how exciting! PalmFronds, to join your listmaking, these are my thoughts:

* A pair of quality, edgy, flat heeled boots
* Grey tweed shorts (I always get an urge for that when fall comes, but have never found a good pair!)
* Some cute cardigans

Being an apple who, I think, need shorts that are mid waisted and mid thigh length, what do you think my chances are of finding a nice pair of "autumny" grey pair?

Congratulations Kimlee! How exciting :-)

I have two pieces of clothing advice for you:
--get good maternity jeans but don't break the bank. I don't see the point of $150 maternity jeans...
--treat yourself to comfortable shoes :-)

Cheers!

PF - My fall choices will all be maternity clothes, since my husband and I just found out that we are expecting our first child in March. I am thinking I will need to pick up new trousers and pencil skirts in fall/winter appropriate fabrics but in maternity sizes.

I already fell off the wagon today by buying a long sweater coat that was on sale for 10 bucks(no kidding), so now I really need to pay attention. NO more trips to the mall!
Atleast not until the leather jackets hit the stores

Hmmm...three items...
I already picked up a pair of skinny jeans, a pair of wool pants, and a pair of ankle boots, so I have a head start.
-a sweater dress

-a new jacket or light coat (I have a trench, and a puffer coat from last year, but my everyday jacket is way too big)

-a cowl neck sweater

Yep, the weight-in-transition phase is always a challenge. After I had my daughters it took about three shopping trips before I realised this was a huge waste of money and I should just settle down and hold my shopping hands tight for a few months :-)

I am thinking about adding a pair of skinny jeans to my list :-)
Believe it or not, I have never owned a pair. I have just not found a pair that fit well and seem to feel like "me". I am much more a boot cut or wide-leg pants person, but I'll keep looking! Must still keep my list to under 5!

Three is good, Palm Fronds!

I have problems predicting what I need each season, because I think I have enough, then the season change hits and I'm all "I have nothing to wear!". With that in mind, my top 3 for fall so far would be:
- Sweater dress (specifically, Hayden-Harnett Yoko in the new colorway)
- Flat black riding boots
- Skinny or straight-leg jeans. I have a UO pair of skinnies that will tide me over until I find that perfect premium denim pair!

Some nice to haves:
- black handbag (Hayden-Harnett Origami)
- Pewter or other metallic flats

I am also working on weight loss and not too eager to spend $$$ on clothes that I may not wear for long.

I am mostly focusing on the YLF "beginner" essentials: shoes, bags, and bras. And I need to build up my accessories too.

My only NAS purchase was a pair of Ecco flats.

So here are 4 other items that would help fill out my fall wardrobe:

1. Skinny jeans. I wear jeans almost daily so I think this would be a worthwhile investment.
2. Knee-high boots to wear with skirts.
3. T-strap heels, just because I've been wanting some for over a year now!
4. Some good bras (o.k., so this will probably be more than one, but they are desperately needed.)

To be honest, I'll probably also be investing in some new costume jewelry, scarves, and some workout clothes, because I have severe shortages those areas.

Because I'm working on weight loss and not sure when I'll hit goal or what my goal is, I'm not really wanting to invest much in specific items and will probably be concentrating on transitional items.

There are a few things that are biggies for me though: a pair of riding boots, a pair of super comfy, low heeled dress shoes to wear for trade shows, and accessories that will help stretch my wardrobe as my body shape adjusts, such as necklaces and scarves.

Sounds like a great plan PalmFronds!-)

Everybody here is busy with the NAS, but I haven't really thought much about Fall clothes yet. I definitely need new Winter trousers, not sure yet which way to go. I'd love to find one or two day dresses as well. And a great pencil skirt would be very welcome too. A funky jacket in a fantastic colour would be the cherry on the pie (we never seem to have your awesome selection of jackets over here). A few new Winter sweaters, ankle boots, a pair of leggings and a feminine blouse/shirt come to mind too.

I'm apparently not ready yet to limit myself to only three items;-)

Hi Ladies,
So I am bit bummed abut the NAS. Didn't find anything that really floated my boat enough to hand over the $$$, and ofcourse the stuff I REALLY like was way out of my price range. So, after a therapeutic run to my local TJMaxx (hee!) where I bought two belts that I actually do need, I thought that I should whittle my fall plans down to 5 items. Truly my wardrobe is just fine for the fall and winter, and after seeing the supposed trends for the winter I am not planning on indulging in too many aside from the yellow/chartreuse colors and a leather jacket. So here is my list for the fall, whittled down to reality and hopefully not expensive, aside from the leather jacket which I accept I may need to pay a it more for:

1)brown leather jacket. Can't do the current biker style, it REALY is not me.

2)a yellow cashmere muffler.I have wanted this for some time but not found one that truly felt perfect, fluffy and made my heart and skin sing. Still looking...

3)my first attempt at Booties. Not sure the color yet.The amazing ones Maya posted a while back got me thinking...

Wow, maybe I only need three things to fill the holes in my wardrobe? I was lucky to and a sweater dress I love, and I got those belts today. So over to you--how about whittling it to three ?
