I like the pool noodles best -- they're lightweight (unlike magazines and some other things) so they never make the boots fall over.

My variation is to bent the noodle in half before shoving it down into my boot. Boots stay solidly upright and the top "handles" just peek above my boots.

I use rolled up magazines. That is, when I actually remember to stuff my boots. Most of the time they just lie in a sad pile where I pulled them off when I walked in the door. Heh. I do stuff them when I put them away for the summer though. Maybe I should get some pool noodles. They look a lot nicer than my old New Yorkers.

I never heard of using pool noodles, brilliant. Really, great ideas here. I try to save the cardboard inserts that come with the boots and use them as a template to make my own from repurposed cardboard and things.

I've been using those noodles for almost a decade now. It's a great idea--and super cheap if I buy them at the dollar store. But I had to laugh at Cindy's fruit loops analogy; those bright noodles do stand out in my closet of sober neutrals!

I have been reorganizing my closet and finally have a place to stand up my boots. I had heard this idea before, so I tried it out- pool noodles as boot forms! They cut easily with kitchen scissors and I found them at the Dollar Tree. One noodle cut in half fills a tall pair of boots.
