Wow! Thank you adorkable, vildy, leopardluxe, shiny, columbine and Angie for your observations!

Leopardluxe - thanks for being honest. I did feel the same the first time round. But now I am loving it! May be because this is that one skirt nobody else owns :D

Shiny - I can't wait to try out all those options!!! Brilliant suggestions! Thank you!

Angie - You are spot on (as if I need to say that!) I have realized shoes play a huge role in my outfits. Last time the shoes just didn't work for me. I am not feeling it with the ballet flats here either. I think I know why. I am the happiest when my outfits have the juxtaposition of tough with girly, casual with formal. The last outfit is a bit too girly for my taste. Hence I need a white shoe update but with black soles may be.

Great observations and fantastic suggestions! This is why YLF is the best place to be! And I can't tell you how much I am craving a full midi skirt.

I liked the all the looks with the jackets the best. I guess I liked more structure with the skirt and the proportions, but the untucked shirts work too.

WOW.

You rock these looks completely, Neel. You toughened up the skirt this time round - with denim and shoes with a harder edge. That was brilliant.

All renditions here work very well part from #7 (jacket is a little long).

Well done. xo

My favorite is #4! Because of the juxtaposition of long over short, sleek over volume, color vs neutrals. #4 took a lot of skill to put together, in my opinion. I prefer the denim shirt worn open like a jacket.

I also like #6. At first I wasn't sure, then it grew on me. The top is a stunning color. The volume-on-volume is very modern. And you chose just the right shoes too.

What about a white fluid/loose boyfriend shirt (like Ornelia's) worn untucked, sleeves scrunched to elbows, and slip on sneakers? I suspect this skirt could work amazing with sneakers. Again it's that juxtaposition.

A boxy sweater might work too -- like in your first post, but maybe even more boxy than that. Or a boxy sweatshirt. I am also thinking this would be cool juxtaposed with a classic suiting blazer, with those shoes in #6. What about a classic b&w striped shirt, with your b&w ballet flats? A long-sleeve turtleneck, if you wear them, could also work quite well -- again for juxtaposition; covered arms and neck, bare legs.

Wow, more I think of it, the more combos I can come up with! How fun is that?

To be completely honest, I'm just not crazy about this skirt. It's not necessarily how you have it styled (which is quite nice) I just feel like when I look at it the skirt itself is trying too hard. If it were a simpler cut with the very busy pattern I think it would work OR a bubble style with a more simple pattern it would work --but it's trying to be both and for some reason that's bothering me. So I feel like I'm seeing the skirt yelling at me rather than seeing the person wearing the skirt and the outfits as a whole (even when worn with the simpler pieces you have it styled with so it can stand out as the statement piece).

My reaction to the skirt is rather odd, since I'm usually a big fan of statement pieces. Regardless of my opinion, I think if you love it you should totally keep it and wear it with attitude (and because you've got the fabulous legs to pull it off!) :-)

I like this skirt a lot - but it definitely wants a top that's short and fitted or even tight. I'm really into both 5 and 7.

You could also try tops with different colors but similar intensity of color. Sometimes that works really well!

I like this skirt on you! Though I like it fine with the colored high vamp footwear, not sure I would like such an emphatic dose of white footwear - but maybe that's just a poison eye for the look on my part.

Thank you Ornella and Bella!

Ornella I ended up returning the sweater from the earlier post since they didn't have a size up and the one I was wearing was a bit snug. I am still looking for a good cropped top (like Ceit's recent one from Zara). No luck just yet.

I too much prefer leaving my tops untucked/faux tucked as they make my torso look longer. I have a very high waist and a full tuck with high waist skirts just doesn't work. Which is why I much prefer the new #5!

ETA: I am also now feeling much better in my skin. And shorter hem line is no longer daunting. So this skirt may finally see the light of the day if the above stylings work!

I think it's sometimes good to hang on to the item that did not work, only to prove ourselves that it really, really does not work and that we have not regrets about letting it go. I think it's a valuable learning exercise.

I checked the old thread. I actually liked #1 there (any other sweaters you can try now too?) and #5 was on good track. The improved and more modern version of the old #5 one is the new #5 from this round - it's a lot more relaxed, yet has enough structure and I personally really like the slightly shorter jacket over the more fluid tee rather than high waist version.

I also like #1, #3 and #7 (scrunch sleeves?). I suggest wearing some of these outside in any case, to make sure how you actually feel in real life circumstances. That's how I personally fine-tune. If it is not practical, makes me feel awkward, then I let let the thing go guilt free.

The shoes are awesome and would be great if they work for you.

After my not very successful attempts with styling this skirt the last time, I still for some reason do not want to purge this skirt. And I still haven't used it even once! So it goes into season 2 of experimenting with newly acquired items in my closet. I would appreciate your help in identifying which of the looks work and which don't.

Outfit 1 - With a faux tucked denim shirt and heeled oxfords
Outfit 2 - Same as 1 but untucked denim shirt
Outfit 3 - With simple white tee, burgundy necklace and boots (they match IRL)
Outfit 4 - Same as 3, with denim shirt worn as jacket
Outfit 5 - Same as 3, with shorter denim jacket
Outfit 6 - With a bright pink fluid top and brown cut out oxfords (Flats are definitely my preferred type of shoes). I could have done a better job at tucking!
Outfit 7 - With bright pink top, white structured jacket and two toned ballet flats (ideally I would like to add edgier white shoes like these). Does this juxtaposition of casual with formal work here?

Lessons that I have learnt from the past and present are that the earlier outfits didn't feel like me at all. While these outfits are very me. And I would wear them in a heartbeat. I have also realized I am not very much of a belt person, hence no belts featured.

So, which are the outfits I shouldn't repeat? Failed proportions for example would be a definite no for me. Any other styling ideas, color combination ideas are highly appreciated. Thank you so much for reading through and for commenting!
