It's my entertainment time and I am addicted because I look forward to it so so much Thankfully I never browse while working!

Guilty as charged. It's both research and entertainment to me. I'm also finding more and more that I prefer to browse online fashion rather than watch TV lately.

I'm very guilty of online browsing, but I'm getting much better now that my wardrobe's where I want it to be and I'm a lot pickier about what I wear.

Very much guilty of this....especially on lazy weekends. I once tried setting time limits, but that lasted about one day.

I use online browsing to procrastinate and also for emotional reasons, so I know the temptation. I wonder if it would be helpful to set particular times when you are allowed to surf, and set a time limit? Knowing that you will have that surfing break might make it easier to stick to the task at hand.

I do pretty much what LavenderMoon describes. That practice applies to Facebook time, YLF time, online browsing time, etc. So I definitely guilty of the procrastination approach. I constantly fight the urge to distract myself and procrastinate.

For me, it would depend on two things. First, is the work still getting done in a reasonable timeframe? If not, then there is definitely a problem. Second, are there other things you could or would rather be doing instead or if you finished your task earlier? We all take breaks, it's just making sure you're enjoying it in the long run.

Break the job into small bites, and allow yourself a bit of browsing between bites. Kind of a reward system, if you will. I find this works for me, anyway, and doesn't seem to require a lot of self-discipline, which definitely isn't my strong suit! And don't stress out about it, you're only human.

You just described my entire morning.

I justify it because I buckled down and got a lot of work done yesterday, so this AM was my "me" time - sitting at Starbucks no less. HA!

When I really need to get stuff done I tell myself I will work until I get X done or until Y time, and then I give myself a surfing break. "They" (whoever they are) say that it actually helps productivity I am going with that at least ..

This thought was triggered by Staysfit's post on sticking to a shopping budget http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ing-budget. A few people mentioned shopping to relieve boredom, or for other emotional reasons like staving off depression. I'm not sure that I do that, or have ever done that (trying things on that don't fit -- because things often don't fit! -- would just depress me even more, lol), but one thing I sure am guilty of is procrastinating by internet browsing. At times, this is a real problem. I do a lot of work on the computer, and it's so easy and tempting to check out the websites I like, and ogle the pretty clothes and footwear instead of working on something that's difficult. I almost never actually buy anything online, although I'll sometimes make a note of items I like so I can try them on in a real shop, if we have one here.

It's not money I'm wasting. It's time -- the one resource that is absolutely irreplaceable. :-(
