Yay, so happy you can make your Oxfords work again. I’m glad you kept them. I’m jealous of the teal ones!

How wonderful that these jeans are giving your oxfords a fresh new way to wear them again. I’m now finding that having wide-leg jeans in my collection allows me to wear my various patterned button-downs much more. I now style them tucked in with a belt. Previously, they just felt a little too traditional and preppy when I wore them with straight leg jeans.

LOL, yes! 10” is not low-rise in my world but that’s how these are marketed. They’re not up to my bra band, nor are they creeping down my backside, so it’s all good. :-D

I wore my COH dark wash wide-legged jeans again yesterday. I seem to be all in on the wide-legged jeans thing. I always liked it so I’m thankful it’s current. I just hope we don’t go back to a time of all-skinnies ever again. That was my least favorite jean trend era. I participated (and thankfully during a time when I wore that look more successfully than I would now), but am not interested in returning to it.

Yes, that is why I hesitate to purge favorites, even when it has been a while since I have worn them.

Great jeans, gotta love a bargain. Give me a "low-rise" any time!

I am so happy to stop trying to wear high rise jeans. They never really worked on me and 10.5" sounds perfect. They fall perfectly over those gorgeous oxfords too!

Looks great with your shoes! However - 'low rise 10,5" ' is kinda funny to me ( 8" or 8,5" is low rise on me - lol ).

Love a successful spontaneous bargain! Enjoy :)

10.5 inches in front inches is mid-rise, really, isn't it It's all relative! 25 years ago, low rises were 7 to 8 inches in front. Glad you found another great pair of jeans!

Yes! I love this! Oxfords are my favorite kind of shoes. Yours are great and they look perfect with the wide leg jeans. The Freda Salvador oxfords are especially cool.
Now, loafers of all kinds have been all the rage. I wonder when it will be the oxfords’ turn.

I found a new way to wear my old shorter tailored jackets with a couple of pairs of wide leg jeans I bought last spring. Suddenly, the jackets looked a bit more current. Or actually the outfits did.

Oh my yes. Ages ago on the way to a client meeting I bought a pair of bronze tassel loafers from one of their brands. I seldom wore them until last year, when I bought a new bag with a low key bronze metallic wash, and then the loafers went into heavy rotation. It tends to happen right when I am thinking seriously about donating it.

I don’t get an outfit photo, but yesterday I enjoyed a new cheap thrill item with a very old favorite!

About a week ago, I was in the mall waiting for my car to be detailed, and wandered into American Eagle, which I rarely frequent but I remember someone saying they had some lower-rise jeans. Lo and behold, the sale rack had one pair of the Sigrid “low rise” (actually a very moderate 10.5”) wide leg jeans in this light wash with inserts at the bottom of the leg. They were only there in the smaller of my usual sizes (an 8 so my hopes were not high), but I tried them on and they came home with me. For a whopping $26! I hesitated for just a moment because I wondered if they looked too young and trendy, but the secret as always is in the styling.

They are just barely long enough for me, so they require my lowest footwear. No heels. So I took the opportunity to take my old low-profile oxfords out of retirement. I wore the jeans a few days ago with my old dark green Freda Salvador oxfords and a striped shirt from Anthro, tied at the waist. It felt good, so yesterday I went with the formula again, this time with the blue and white jacket/top I got earlier this year and my very old blue Cole Haan oxfords. I ran errands, took a walk around my old stomping ground in a lovely old neighborhood in the city (obligatory fall leaves and sidewalk photo included), and went to a happy hour concert.

Have you ever found that a single purchase helps bring an old neglected favorite back into rotation?
