Then if you are still feeling the pull of alterations at the end of the summer, take them to the cobbler then, when the long wait won’t matter so much.</p> <p>The one concern I have about adding cutouts is that it could change the fit of the shoe — the cutouts might make the leather stretchier or less stable, and the shoes therefore looser. Since they’re slides, that could make them unwearable. I have one pair of cobalt blue sandals and they, sadly, are a fail for me. And they are not even that bright! Dark burgundy and bronze are as bright as I go. Could you re-colour the shoes if they are not working out for you? I’m pretty sure Vix re-coloured some suede sandals and posted about it a while back. I re-coloured a pair of mine recently using the Tarrago products she recommended. I have purple, orange, pink, blue, olive, teal as well as neutrals such as camel, bronze and navy. I wear a lot of print, mostly floral, in summer so most of these shoes are interchangeable when the print has a similar color family. I also love wearing purple or orange with my green or navy dresses — that stands out more. But they're very maximal on my feet. I like them most with my red skirt, since it's kinda a column of color, and the new tie dye dress should work same. They're less maximal with pants-but I only wear skirts May-October (pants are too hot-and I hate wearing them). </p> <p>But-I'm debating whether to take them to the leatherworker to cut back or add some sort of texture or perforations to soften the look a bit. The catch is, he's very busy, so it may be months to get back....</p> <p>Wwyd? Do you wear bright sandals? </p>
