				<description>&#060;p&#062;totes are the way to go.  add more structure/less trim if law/banking/conservative firm.  long handles over the shoulder carry, or short handles for hand carry.  i like short-ish handles that can go over the shoulder in a pinch.

				<description>&#060;p&#062;I actually have a tote-bag that is marketed as a briefcase for women.  It looks like a large leather tote bag but it has compartments inside just like a briefcase, even a space for a laptop.  I carry it on my shoulder - I didn't want to carry a man-type briefcase in my hand, if that is even a phrase!
