Fabulously appropriate! I’d have preferred to see the hem a little shorter but you still look poised and elegant with the frock at this length. Well done!

Kari you look lovely!! I agree with the others - no need to feel self-conscious about the bust - its still quite modest!!! If I were you I'd be tempted to hem it a bit afterwards to get more versatility out of the dress, if the bride doesn't want it shorter for the wedding. Looks great with those shoes!!!

Thanks! It is really a great choice - with the sash off it actually doesn't even look very bridemaid-y, so I will wear it to other formal events too. So far, the other girls that I have seen that got fitted also look great in the dress, and it sounds like we all only need minimal alterations. Yay!

Beautiful! That is a nice bridesmaid choice (the only one I was in involved floor length bright yellow dresses - scary) and even though the bustline is lower than you wear to work it is perfect for a party or wedding.

HAve a great time!

I hope the other girls dresses fit as well. That color is really pretty on you.

I think this looks great! And honestly--I barely see any cleavage. In the first photo, there is a tiny bit of it, and in the second, I can't see it at all. (And even if you could see a decent amount of cleavage, I think it would still look great--it's a wedding, after all!)

Following up on an old thread that I started - this update is just for fun now that we finally have our bridesmaid's dresses in for my friend's wedding, which is less than two weeks away!

The dresses fit great. I only need the straps shortened & need to pin down the sash so it won't slip down like it did in the first pic.
Some of the other girls will need a quick hemming, but the bride liked the length of my dress so I'm leaving it as is. The dress *is* lower cut in the front than what I usually wear, but everyone else said I looked great and not at all inappropriate, so I am putting my chest insecurities aside.
http://i645.photobucket.com/al.....G_001b.jpg
http://i645.photobucket.com/al.....G_005b.jpg

We are all wearing Naturalizers in an off-white ("Stonehenge", they call it) color. Two of us are wearing the Whistler slingbacks that Tarzy recommended - thanks so much, Tara! - which I managed to get at an amazing discount.

One of the other bridesmaids is crafting pearl necklaces for us to wear, and though the bride has no preference for our earrings, it sounds like most of us will wear some form of pearl in a natural color. (I am wearing my freshwater pearl drop earrings.)

I plan to wear my hair down but may try to twist a few soft waves into it. We'll see how it ends up depending on the humidity of the day.

The bride, by the way, is a petite rectangle and is wearing a gorgeous strapless mermaid gown with a flared train and tiny satin buttons all the way down the back. She looks amazing.

Anyway, I am extremely excited, and I'm so grateful for the advice I received from each of you who helped me out several months ago. You are such an awesome resource, especially for a novice who has never been in a wedding party!
