Georgetown (DC) has COS, Fluevog, Veronica Beard, Intermix, etc, but especially during Covid, it requires more effort to go there than I bother with. Elsewhere in DC I can find Uniqlo, Peruvian Connection, and others that aren’t available in Annapolis or Baltimore, which are closer and easier to navigate. I’m usually lazy about going a distance for shopping unless I’m on a mission, LOL. But I do find that we get the second or third tier status with Country Road which I find irritating as often the more interesting pieces aren’t available to see locally. I ^could^ get undies at the shop 200 yards away, but they aren’t organic. The organic grocer 50 yards further does sell women’s briefs, bikini underpants, and bras from organic cotton, <a href="https://www.peoplewearorganic.de/start/" rel="nofollow">https://www.peoplewearorganic.de/start/</a> but not in the styles I find attractive. Berlin has tons of amazing lingerie stores, but they are generally expensive and don’t highlight the ethical principals in production. So sure, being able to get nice, sexy undies that fit well and are sustainably made close to home would be great. But it isn’t exactly on the top of my list of changes needed to make the world a better, fairer place, iykwim. Btw, my son read online today that 40% of department stores in the US have closed in the last five years—a longer term trend than just covid times. TBH the main reason I go in is to get away from the office on my lunchbreak.
