I am 5'6" and I have started "practicing" wearing leggings around the house. I also have never liked them on myself, but I love them on other people. Angie suggested I get mine in the petite section and it seems to work for me.....but now my belly hangs over the top a bit. That's another story, but they fit better. They look so easy to wear, but they haven't been for me. You are right, if they are too big they will slip down.
