I was measured at my local Nordstrom's and purchased Chantelle bras. Pricey but I hand wash them. It's been 8 months now and they are doing just fine. I have two lined for think tops and two lace but no lining which are for heavier knits.

If there's a Soma near you, they're an excellent choice for a fitting and good bras too. I have a couple of their styles, and I must say their bras seem to be well made. There are a couple that I know I've had for well over a year (even though everyone says they won't last that long) that still are very serviceable. And I just wash them in the washer in a bag on the delicates cycle.

Nordies is definitely another good choice. Be prepared to possibly have to try on different sizes even after a fitting. Depending on the brand and cut, I can be a 34D or 34DD.

Ditto to Nordie's and Intimacy.

Also something that's important to remember is that it's not just about size, but also shape. I'm really busty (32DD), but for whatever shape reasons (or -sigh- gravity) a demi cup almost always fits, and a full cup almost never does. It's so much easier to buy bras now that I know that.

Oh-- and maybe bring a clingy top to try on over it-- you'll notice the fit when you try on the bra, but you also want to know how your underwear affects your outerwear.

I would highly recommend Nordie's if you dont have a Intimacy nearby.... once you get fitted and find out what brands/styles you like, check out ebay for at least 50% savings off retail. Just be sure and check the seller's feedback and look for NWT/NIB (new with tags/new in box) I personally like Le Mystere and even the far cheaper Cacique available at Lane Bryants

For budget priced t shirt bras I really like Maidenform's One Fabulous Fit. I have to order my size (32C) online but if you are a more common size they stock them at most department stores. http://www.maidenform.com/bras.....ulous-fit/

ETA: the lace demi I noticed is only $15 on their site. I just paid $29 on herroom!

I, too, mostly read. Don't feel like I have enough clout to post suggestions when I feel like I can hardly put together an outfit in the void of my closetful of clothes! I went in November to finally give "the girls" the respect they deserve. I made an appointment for a fitting at Intimacy. Their bras are more expensive than most places ($100), but I feel like the fitting and the quality make up for the increased cost. You could always get a fitting and are not obligated to purchase anything.

Hi kh! I'd definitely recommend getting measured, yes, and from what I've read on the forum, Nordies does an excellent job.

Have you seen this thread, yet? I think you might find more answers and suggestions there. And I'm sure the others will chime in here too.

Good luck, have fun picking out some fab new bras and keep us posted!

Hi ladies,
I mostly read without posting, but now I have a question. I'm in the market for some bras. I've worn nothing but nursing bras for a very long time. Now it's time to move back into regular bras.

I suppose I should get measured. I can make a trip to Nordie to do that. Any suggestions for bras? After three children my girls need some help.
