Stretchy pants and jeggings might be what you are looking for. If so, you can consider brands like J Brand, American Eagle or DKNY.

I agree with what Diana suggests. "Relaxed fits" will fit a curvy body in a regular way - like the AG Nikkis, Gap Girlfriends and R&B Dres.

To Janet and Diana's point, high waisted jeans can be very uncomfortable on a short waist.

I agree with Janet's recommendations, especially KUT and Lucky. I actually am not a fan of most so-called "curvy" cuts in pants/jeans, because i find that they tend to be more high waisted than I prefer, especially in the front. I find high waists both unattractive and uncomfortable on my particular body. For example, I actually like the Loft's Marisa (regular) fit better than Julie (curvy) because the waist is lower. I do have to go up one size in the Marisa but I like the look a lot better personally and it's more comfortable. So I suggest keeping an open mind and trying on a size up in "regular" cuts if you find the curvy cuts too high waisted.

Also, if you are looking for skinny jeans or pants, consider things listed as slouchy skinnies or even skinny boyfriend jeans. On a curvy build these often fit like regular (not super tight) skinnies. You might have to play around with sizing a bit. I really like my Rag and Bone Dre and my Gap girlfriend jeans.

*slaps forehead*

I answered this thread with half a brain cell this morning and clearly not enough tea. Sorry about that.

Soooo, I echo Janet's KUT from the Kloth and Gap recommendations. Some Lucky. Premium denim generally does not do curvy fits well, but occasionally Joes, Paige and AG work. And the Levis Curvy Series is always worth a look.

For jeans, I would try Gap, Lucky Brand (the Lolita fit works really well on me, plus they come in lengths, yay!), Paige (sometimes -- some cuts are skinny, but the old Skyline cuts are pretty thigh-friendly), some AG styles, and Kut. I don't have much of a booty, it's all on the sides in the form of hips and saddlebags, and these brands have worked for me, and usually long enough in the inseam, depending on the particular style. Not sure what kind of rise you require, but NYDJ are definitely on the higher side (which does not work for me, I'm rather short in the rise, but with a long inseam).

My petite, thin, yet curvy teenager has great luck at American Eagle and says she sees a lot of curvy girls at her high school in American Eagle.
Old Navy seems to be cut curvier than Gap but American Eagle is still a better fit for her.
She hasn't had any luck with the fit at Gap, Arapostale or Ambercrombie and now doesn't shop for jeans at those stores. The straighter hipped girls seem to favor those styles.

I like the Talbots' curvy jeans but have not experimented widely.

For me to experiment now, I would now look for stores or brands that label a curvy cut.
Sometimes a store will use words like 'Modern' or 'Lindsey' to label their different fits and you have to decode the words to know which is the curvy fit.
Anything that says 'boyfriend' is usually a poor fit.

Angie, Sveta, Bettycrocker, Aida, & Laura Rhubarb,
Thank-you for all your suggestions. Now I would be willing to experiment with different brands again. Thank-you.

Another plug for the LOFT curvy fits, particularly good if you're also petite (in the petite versions).

Express Editors for sure. Talbot's curvy Lindsey pants. NYDJ if you're not overly curvy.

I agree with Angie; Loft's curvy fits are great. Eddie Bauer also has a curvy fit in both jeans and pants. I used to have good luck at Banana Republic, but they've changed their styles recently so you might have to experiment. On the low end, Old Navy has a curvy cut - it used to be called sweetheart fit but now I think it's just curvy.

Hi, everyone! I am new-ish here and building my wardrobe from scratch. At the top of my shopping list are casual pants and/or jeans that I can wear to the studio (art) and around town.

My favorite brand for studio pants right now is Gramicci because they tend to fit my full bum and thighs.

What other brands of pants are out there that can you recommend that fit an hourglassy build? I am a U.S. size 10/12 and go for natural fabrics and looser styles.
