I wrote another reply to this last night on my phone, and now see it didn't go through. Anyways, I was liking the word "uncovering" - as used by Liz above....and think that could be a verb to use in your descriptive tag line...as in Uncovering Solutions, Uncovering Best Solutions, Uncovering the Answer etc...

Communicated Essence. Communicated Essentials.
In looking at the logo you liked, it focused on what would be the benefit for those using you - focusing on what they want. I liked your term essentials - you might want to brainstorm punchy one word terms focusing on benefits in a condensed form. Good luck!

Along with being active, I'd also prefer a value statement that tapped into why your clients hire you -- I'm guessing they want to solve a problem or make money. If you got a bunch of your potential clients in a room and did a focus group with them, what would they say? Tap into those needs to create your value statement for them.

Are you open to more than two words? You have space on your website for a phrase or sentence (e.g., Uncovering the data that moves you forward, or, I efficiently connect you with what your customers want, so you can drive the results you need.)

I've been thinking about something similar recently, so I'd like to play :).
My personal opinion is that I prefer, like lisap above, "active" sounding taglines, as opposed to more passive ones. I wonder if Listen/Learn is too active - learn, but then what? Maybe something that emphasizes that the point of the learning/engaging/listening is to generate actionable insights for the client.

"Listen. Learn. Act" ?

Or, to emphasize your own unique creative and active style of connecting (listening sounds very passive) with people:

"Engage. Learn. Act"
(or "Connect. Learn. Act")

I like Engaging in Conversations, or Engaging Conversations. I also like Listen. Distill. Apply, with maybe a different word instead of distill.

In between teaching jobs when I moved from NJ to NY, I worked for a survey research firm in Albany. They did phone surveys and focus groups. I did all the reports for their clients.

I think the tag line should be an action word, or words - i.e. a verb. As "igniting ideas" is. I'm not really strong in thinking up word pairings - I can do a book title or subtitle, but this stuff is not my strong point.

Creating Solutions is one that does come to mind though.

I am not a fan of folksy or cozy sounding company names for a serious research based company, that's another of my thoughts.

Hi everyone,

I am currently going through a rebranding of my business -- new logo, new website, etc. I could use your help as I am developing a tagline: just a couple of words to very succinctly capture the essence of my business.

BACKGROUND:

In a nutshell, I am a qualtiative research consultant. Clients come to me with a marketing challenge (a new product idea, several ad campaigns to choose from, etc.) and they ask me to share it with their current/potential customers and let them know how it fared. I conduct focus groups (8 or so people each) or individual interviews, consider all that we learned, and then distill the learning into key insights for my client.

There are a lot of people in my industry. Many have specific areas of expertise -- subject matter (kid specialists, healthcare focused, etc.). I am a generalist: my clients range from food and drink to television to healthcare to apparel. My expertise is really in the area of conversation. I consider myself to be very skilled at creating an outline that gets to the key objectives, connecting with people very quickly so they relax and open up, and then guiding a conversation effectively so that the insights -- both sought and unexpected -- emerge.

THE CHALLENGE FOR YOU:

Here's an example that I love from a woman in the biz. She is known as a kid expert with a deep creative streak. Her business is called "LitBrains" and her tagline is "Igniting Ideas." What I'm working on is the "Igniting Ideas" part for my business.

What I am looking for is a couple of words that build on the idea of conversation or listening or personal connection to capture the essence of what I do, and also convey a feeling of energy.

Please post any ideas, words, combinations, etc., that come to mind when you read this. I want them all!
