Denise, I know what loop you mean, but I'm actually talking about something different. What I mean is an actual sewn in strap adjustment slot on a convertible bra. Like the ones where you can unfasten the strap from the back, cross it over and wear it like a racer-back? Anyhow, I just put an additional strap adjustment slot on mine.

And I KNOW! You would think that a girl with shoulders like mine wouldn't have problems, but no. I think it is a function of how mobile our shoulders are: they dip, they twist, they move, and when they drop down, the straps slip. That's why I'm convinced it is more an issue of strap placement. Closer to the fastener on the back means less slipage.

I've tried Chantelle and it is my most expensive and least favorite bra. It is my least favorite for two reasons, (1) the fit is off somehow. I can't really put my finger on it, but it always feels "wrong." (2) The cup has lace stitching that goes across the cup. Very pretty, and that was why I originally bought it, but that same lace stitching is lumpy under tee shirts. Really lumpy. I rarely wear this bra in public because the lumpiness is so apparent.

I just realized I hate this bra. Out it goes.

Oops, forgot to add: I wear a 30 in the Chantelle I mentioned above. The band is quite soft (in a good, meaning comfy, way; it is supportive). The cups are lined.

Thanks for this post, Cocolion; I'm getting lots of new ideas! I am a fan of Chantelle and particularly like their multi-way 'Vous et Moi' Demi style. I am also a 30-32 and this style has two positions for straps in the back: the closer to the clasp position is great for racer back tops and helps with strap slippage. I find it super comfy and nice coverage and line under knits, though it is a bit utilitarian looking. I got mine at Nordstrom.

I am quite a bore and only wear Chantelle rive gauche t shirt bras. They are reasonably pretty, and just do what no other bra has ever done for me in terms of keeping everything in place.

Doubleh my under bust measurement is 28" and i wear either a 30" band or a 32". When I am standing and moving a lot, like at work, I like the 30" bands because they are more supportive. If I'm sitting for the day I wear my 32" bands. So yes I think a 30" band would work.

Thanks Cocolion! My band has been measured at 28, but I wonder if I could get away with a 30....28s are so limiting! And never fuschia or preety undeez!

I do too, and I am super picky because they must fit beautifully and be comfortable as well.

I'm going to give some of these Chantelle suggestions a try. In the past, I've found I've been between sizes in this brand -- but every model is different right, so worth trying again.

K I'm surprised you too have the strap slipping issue. I think I have one of those loops somewhere in my drawer. Mine might have been designed to make a bra a racer back though.

Isabel is this the bra? I was having trouble with the link.

I have problems with straps slipping too and I have broad shoulders. I think it is an issue of the manufacturers placing the straps too far from the center back of the bra. I've taken to buying ones with adjustable straps. Some already have a second set of fabric loops to move the straps inward, toward the clasp. Many of those that don't can be fixed by adding a small fabric loop to the band further in, giving the straps a new loop to attach to that is better placed. It never fails to fix the problem, which is sooo frustrating! Now if only they could come up with a true no-show strap!

I have wider rather than narrow shoulders but I like this one. It doesn't look like it has double straps but mine do so I think it's the photo. My own experience has been that you'll want to size up a cup size, so if you're a C try a D too.

http://http//shop.nordstrom.co.....ltback=805

I like the Delice and will definitely try it! It's hard to find bras that have a little lace detail but that doesn't scratch or itch and this looks promising! Thanks!

Funny, I have the same bras and the same problem with the straps! They're still my go-to because of the comfort, but the straps slip off within a day. I alternate with Chantelle balconette bras, whose straps tend to stay put, but whose bras are unlined.

Doubleh's thread about machine washing bras got me thinking about my bra wardrobe. This past Summer I did a bra wardrobe overhaul, many thanks to the members who helped me out offline (Vix especially).

I am a fan of Simone Perele bras for fit, comfort, design and quality. The three models I've had for some time have been the Caressence, The Andora, the Romance (now discontinued but the new Delice is similar). My main concern with these bras, even though they are great with their 3D spacer foam, was the straps. They slid off my short torso and less-than-square shoulders. Even after shortening/altering the straps, they would fall off.

Well, it's as if this company in France is listening to customers because my two newer additions, the Delice 3D and the Amour 3D -- don't have this problem. No need to get the straps altered, and no slipping! Something about the double straps prevents digging too. The lace is not scratchy which I found was an issue with the Caressence.

The links below are from BareNecessities.com. These bras are sold at Nordstrom too. If any Canadian Fabbers need shipping help PM me! No one is running a sale on these right now but I do know that maybe twice a year BN runs a Friends & Family promo which includes Simone Perele.
