Interesting to know about the in-store sale! I paid full price online. There's a Lululemon two blocks from my house - but - I never go in because I loathe the 'educators'.

Actually, the SAs are perfectly nice (one took a class from me last year) - I just loathe that they are called educators. Persuading someone to buy your product is not a form of education.

Another member of the SWSB club! Just wanted to pass along my favourite bra - Aerie Sunny. Discovered these at the beginning of the summer - and I love them! Price point is excellent, and they wash and wear beautifully.

Yes, Suz, by your description, I am in this group. I had a hard time finding bras that fit until I found the Marie Jo's.

Thanks for the tip Cinnamon fern! There is a Lululemon in town, maybe I can see if they have this bra in stock. It would be nice to have some variety!

Staysfit, there's a site somewhere -- one of the bra places, but I forget which one -- where you can see some visual images and answer some questions about your shape to clarify. I hope someone else will have the link.

But basically...your breasts are shallow (or on the shallow side) if they are not well rounded at the tops. Women who've had children, or smaller breasted women tend to be shallower than larger breasted women (but even large breasted women can have shallow breasts.) Some women call it a "ski slope" look. My own breasts don't look like that (they are more rounded because I have not borne or nursed children) but they are nonetheless on the shallow side.

Your breasts are widely spaced if they are placed out towards the sides of your chest vs.close together. It is hard even for large breasted women with widely spaced breasts to achieve a lot of cleavage.

My breasts do not "project" a lot -- but they are not at all as tiny as they might look! A lot of fitters would see me and assume I needed an A or B cup. Not so. I actually need a D cup (or occasionally a C) - along with a narrow band (I wear a 30) -- and widely spaced cups -- i.e. the center gore needs to be quite wide.

I've learned to be pretty good at fitting myself by guessimating and reading reviews.

If you like your Marie Jo you probably do fall into this camp. I have a lace Marie Jo that I only wear in summer but it is one of my most comfortable bras for sure.

I need some boob education. What are shallow wide spaced boobs? I suspect I may be in this group. I have a bra that fits perfectly - Marie Jo - Tom. The Avero comes in a close second. I have tried several Simone Perelle bras but they aren't nearly as comfortable or supportive.

Thanks, gradfashionista. I will check it out. I fear it might not be wide enough for me though. I'm wearing the Simone Perelle Caressence today and it's not quite the right fit for me -- cups too narrow and close together, straps a bit longer than would be ideal. I can (just) barely get away with it -- but at the moment I can't wait to get out of my bra!!

SImone Perele 3D (I forget the name) for strapless; it's the only I've owned that looks normal and doesn't cut it at the top. It's convertible, too.

Oooh! I am in this boob club, too! I really like my Natori Feathers bras. I have a different Wacoal that is also working well.

I got (and kept) a Betsy Johnson from NAS but I do agree with Diana about the fabric, so I find I wear it less, even though it is pretty comfortable.

Does anyone in this camp have any strapless recommendations? I really need a strapless for next summer.

Thanks for the tip, CF.

I have two of that Wacoal t-back one! Love them. I finally had to buy a t-back last summer because so many of the sleeveless tops were cut in a lot on the shoulder blades.

Haven't tried the Lululemon one. It looks good, but I have a serious case of Lululemon fatigue. I live at ground zero; I started buying their stuff when they first opened and I find the quality has gone downhill in recent years. But hopefully someone will prove me wrong! Also the sales assistants -- at least the ones here -- are like members of a smiling zombie cult.

I'm in the same camp but the high center gore wouldn't work for me either. That Natori looks lovely! Unfortunately Calvin Klein isn't available in my size.

I thought I'd add my own recommendation, the Lepel Fiore:

http://www.figleaves.com/us/pr.....olour=Nude

Most comfortable bra I've ever tried on and they do all the basic colors plus seasonal ones too. The cups aren't too deep and the wires are rather wide (very often too narrow on me). And no high center gore, so no digging in. The shape is nice too and it doesn't break the bank.

Oh, thanks for the rec! One thing that concerns me is that the center gore on this one looks very tall, which may not work for me and my short torso.
(The one Kelly linked fit me pretty well, but I returned it because I thought the material felt super strange and rubbery.)

I have a new all-time favorite bra - it's from Lululemon, but it's not a sports bra. If there's anyone else on team shallow, widely-spaced breasts (OK, that sounds bizarre), give it a try. It gives a nice shape and, more important, is incredibly comfortable. I bought burgundy last week and loved it so much I just ordered two more.
