That's awful Kate! I had a fairly similar experience a few weeks ago. I was at Macys and for the record, I tried on about five different 32Cs. They didn't have a huge variety in 32 sizes, but they do carry them! Good luck, I hope your order works out!

Maya (and anyone else who cares), I placed orders through herroom and figleaves last night, and should have 14 bras showing up at my house somewhat soon! It turned out most of the 30DD and 30E bras that Nordstrom had were also available through herroom, so I was able to limit my order to just two stores. Thanks for all of your help, and I'll keep you posted!

It's up to you and your finances Kate At Intimacy they bring out bras by the truckload. I try on at least 20 (but of course I don't have to buy them first, so it's not quite comparable).

One thing I do with purchases like that is make sure they are on my credit card so I'm not running out of money until they credit me back!

Oh, don't worry Maya, I am coming up with an order now. I've been looking at figleaves, herroom, and nordstrom online. I've found the most strapless options at herroom, but am kinda tempted to place orders from all 3 places (and spend like $1,000!) and then return all but the best 3 bras. Does that make sense? Should I do it in rounds instead of all at once? What do you think?

Kate- it looks like there is a Nordstroms in Scottsdale and one in Chandler. If nothing else you could order a bunch online and return the unwanted ones to one of those stores.

When the YLF convention happens, I will set up a bra fitting booth!

Kate, I insist you order online. Yes, I am bullying you. Just buy a ton in a variety of band and cup sizes. I recommend figleaves.com. They are based in the UK but the shipping is no more than what you'd pay here and they have lots of variety in size and style. If you would like specific recommendations, I'm glad to give them!

Maya, the cups fit ok on the 34C, but they still dug in a bit. I'm not sure if that was a problem with the cup size in general, or the cups on that specific bra expecting boobs to be perfect spheres.

The problem I've been having with my 32Ds is that the band seems to be too loose, and so the straps fall down on some, the back rides up on some, and the top of the cups kinda stick out under my shirt on others, even though I fill the cups perfectly. It's like the fabric on the outside shrinks after being washed a bit, but the padding doesn't and then the padding starts sticking out where it can. Did I explain that clearly?

Maybe I will just try ordering a bunch online and praying to the bra gods that something works...

How silly of me, apparently Tucson doesn't have a Nordstrom. Where DO women in this city get their bras? I guess I'm stuck with Dilliards or Victoria's Secret ugh

Ugh, sounds like the ol' add 4-5 inches rule. Very few places stock 28's and 30's unfortunately. Nordies had 30s online but when I went to the store they only went down to 32's.

Well, fitters are not, as I mentioned, the final judge. You are. They will just give you a starting point. Good for you for going with your gut and being insistent. That's how to do it!

How did the cups fit on the 34C? If they fit well, I would try a 30DD or 30E and a 28E or 28F (depending how the brand sizing works). It's actually easier to just buy a bunch of stuff online and return it than it is to deal with annoying saleseople, so not extreme at all.

I wonder if you can all ahead to Nordie's and see when a bra fitter who has experience with smaller band sizes is available?

I've been meaning to get a bra fitting for a while, and finally went to Alice Rae today. Alice Rae used to be listed on the Intimacy website as a place to go in AZ, since they don't have any Intimacy stores here. Plus Alice Rae had good online reviews, so it seemed worthy of a try.

A bit of background: my aunt was a lingerie specialist at Nordstrom for a couple decades (she switched jobs a couple years ago), and she has sized me as a 32D since I was 14. I started buying bras at Victoria's Secret when I got to college, but was never as happy with how they fit, and so now I've been wanting to go get fitted again and see what's up. Also, after reading Maya's posts, I have a sneaking suspicion I'm more of a 30 or even a 28... but I digress.

So, I get to Alice Rae and the woman takes me to a fitting room, measures me under the boobs (with my shirt and bra still on) and tells me I'm a 32, and she thinks I'm probably a B or C cup. She comes back with two strapless bras in 32A and 32B, and tells me they don't have the 32 in a larger cup size. I humor her and try on the 32B, which looks awful. She tells me it looks great. I tell her I want to try a larger cup size. She comes back with a 34B. I try it on, and insist that it still digs into my breasts on top, and that I want to try a larger cup size. She tells me I won't be able to fill a C cup and that the 34B looks great, but I say I want to try the 34C anyway. I try it on, and it fits better than any of the others, but is still a bad fit. She tells me it looks great, I tell her it's not good enough, but thanks for trying, and I leave.

It looks like Nordstrom might be my best bet in town, unless anyone can suggest a better department store... I tried Macy's and the woman told me that they don't carry much smaller than a 34 so I shouldn't bother looking! Ugh. I could also try ordering a bunch of stuff online and just sending back what doesn't fit, but that seems a bit extreme, especially since I want to experiment with a smaller band size. Any suggestions?
