The weather simply isn't cold enough for a jacket. I wear the vest to work and then take it off shortly thereafter. It's weird that it's still warm in the middle of October! We bought hers while in the store. I ordered mine, and it hasn't arrived yet, but I ordered my usual Medium Petite size. They didn't have the white one in the store; just black, burgundy and gray--and only 3 or 4 of them left, so slim pickings.
