Ummlila, I may be "sagging" in one pic or another as I need to wear a flat belt with these to keep them at the right spot, even after taking up the waist a bit--they just aren't curvy enough. If it weren't for this fabric I would not have tried to make them work. I actually have tried various curvy tweed pants and sometimes the opposite occurs, they're too bulky in tweed. That is also an aha moment--I love tweed pants but they don't love me. Flatter-weave drapey fabrics are much better.

They look a lot better on you than they did on me! Is the crotch hanging low, though? Looks like maybe in pic one but not on the others. Anyway I am glad you like them. I really wanted to keep them but basically was too short for the style/cut to work.

I like all these with a slight preference for 2. I'm a sucker for cobalt with black and white and also like the shape of the top.

I like#3 best, most flattering! The fit and color of your top is a nice contrast to the more man-style trouser. I bought these as well, but sized up for the slouch, and I LOVE them! Great purchase for the cooler months ahead.

In contrast to some recent items I've just been trying out that may not make the cut, I decided to go with these pants from BR.

I was a BR lemming on the gray wool pindot pants even though they may be a "stretch" for me. On me they are tailored straight fit (or at least I hope it is acceptable) and not slouchy, because they are cut more straight through the hip and also low in the rise than what will work as slouch for me. I can't tuck into these--need to wear tops out.

But, the lined wool fabrication called to me for the Polar Vortex and because of its grayed tones, not sharp black & white. This color works well since the colors can be coaxed into blending with my lighter neutrals, (gray, moonbeam & even camel as a stretch) as well as with black, berrries and teal.

Just shown with a few tops to show colors, but I think I will focus on my more fluid longer sweaters for balance. I will wear them kind of scrunched over ankle boot because they are narrow and since the purpose is for winter-warmth, I would not use a pump or bare ankle look, and I wanted a longer legline as well.

I hope this will be a strategic purchase to make easy but warm FFBO's in the winter with simple sweater/pants/boot.

Comments and suggestions welcome!
