Thank you to all.
-AStyleOfOne’s, that is encouraging. I hope to have the same good results that you had.
-Jessikams, that is not too bad, right? You still got good results.
-Tanya, I agree with you. I notice that on a lot of my items. I think it has to do with the wax that they use on the yarn threads that they weave or knit together as a fabric. The wax is used to make the threads flow properly without getting stuck in the machinerie. Said wax is what gives new clothes that crisp look and feel. Once you wash them the wax goes away and the feel of the garment is different.
-efbgen, thank you for the great link. I will bookmark it. The last time what I did was I washed them in cold, then I put them in the dryer in low for 30 minutes and finished by hanging them to finish drying and they shrank. Your link explains that you should never put viscose in the dryer, that was how I ruined them.
-Anchie, you really know what you are doing since you wash even your fine Theory suit. My cap is off to you :)
I also want to avoid chemicals from the cleaners.
So this is what I did: I washed them in cold, put them in air dry for two hours (this did not dry them much at all) and now they are hanging to dry. I hope everything goes well this time around. I will let you know once they are done.
Thank you again for the input.

I washed lightweight wool Ryans with success, but not this particular fabric content. But I may be extreme case because I am alergic to dry clean chemicals and I wash everything, even my Theory suit.

Hope I do the link correctly. If not google "Laundress" and search "Can I be washed" a table comes up.
Here is link to Laundress site that talks about different fabric
https://www.thelaundress.com/c.....ashed.html

I have washed my Sloans without shrinkage, but they looked much duller. I dry clean all the other pairs now. The fabric just doesn't look and feel the same after washing.

I've washed two different pairs of Sloans several times each in a mesh bag on gentle on cold, then hung to dry, with no issues. Good luck!

Has anyone had good or very bad results washing BR pants? I have some Ryans and Sloans, both cotton ~52, rayon viscose ~40 and the tag says dry clean only. In want to wash in cold and then air dry and finish drying on the hanger. Have you done similarly and what results have you had? Hopefully someone can share good results?
I washed my first pair of Skoans in cold and dried in low temp but they shrank.
I would only put them in air dry now or drip dry.
All this because I prefer to skip the cleaners and the chemicals that they use.
I will appreciate your advice. I am putting this as a rush because today is my laundry day...
