Maybe you need a petite? I love the color on you too. </p> <p>I actually ordered those culottes in black. I was attracted by the fact that they are both wide AND mid rise (a rare combo). They haven't arrived yet but I think I am going to have the same issue as you with the pleating being too voluminous. I actually ordered a size up as I though maybe they would sit lower that way; I have no idea if that would work but did you try a larger size? With pleated things sometimes that works for me - dropping the whole thing down an inch might make the pleats sit flatter because they start below the hip shelf. I think the fit looks good but I have trouble seeing the details in this photo, for the shirring and where it may crease or not, which is an issue for me. One thing I look for is whether the dress shimmies up and has to be tugged down, or if it stays put/slides back when you move.</p> <p>Bravo for trying culottes! It arrived today and it turns out it is more a brick red which I really enjoy. The shirring on the sides and front always leave me confused. I don't know if the rushing seems intentional or if it looks tight ( which is not ).</p> <p>Regarding the cullotes they are a linen blend and they might be a bit big on the waist .</p> <p>I look forward to your opinions and don't want to influence you one way or other.</p> <p>Thank you for looking. </p>
