Unfrumped, I wondered if they had put the lining content instead of the coat itself on the website.

Good pickup by JAileen who noticed the website listed the lining fabric content!
The coat is 78% wool/23% nylon.

I think I would be messing with the ties all the time. It is a pretty coat and color. Do you love it or do you like it?

If you really can live with it being closed all the time, I think it's a good one to go for. It sounds like the look and fit and color are ALL very exciting for you. It's something that you likely never find again, too. The happiness factor sounds very high.

I am appreciating the comments.
I agree it's tie- dependent. I will have to thunk on whether I'd get annoyed, because s more classic reeder style would be more versatile.
It's not exactly a HEWI, but when I put it on, the precise fit and the color are" aha" for a style concept.

I think it is beautiful but agree that it should be worn tied. I think the tie makes it look different, in a good way.

This is a beautiful coat but would be hard to wear open. There are others out there this year.

I think Calvin Klein has a blush coat.

Also, Old Navy has a one button coat in a similar blush color. I've seen it in real life and it is paler than the online picture.

http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/.....=335183042

As you might guess, I'm on the hunt for a blush coat for fall.

I think it's very telling that all of the pictures show it closed, none with it open. The other thing is, it's described as a wool melton jacket. This is the fabric content. Where is the wool?

FABRIC & CARE
57% acetate, 43% nylon.
Italian fabric.
Dry clean.
Imported.

I can't see this coat looking good with a loser tie, or open. Unless you are committed to wearing it tied properly - I vote pass

I don't know, I spend a lot of time with my coat open. If I'm just going to get coffee, popping in and out of stores, getting a little too warm, etc. so I'd find a coat I HAD to close pretty annoying.

It's really pretty though! And I agree the side tie is much less bathrobey.

Love the coat. The need to side tie will drive me bonkers because I can never get the front to lie as flat as I like with the fabric bulk. Also you have to see it in person. A wrap coat may have too much material on one side to hang properly when open. How often would you wear it open vs closed?

It looks like a beautiful, versatile jacket. I really like greyish shades of blush like this one appears to be -- interesting and sophisticated.

I am faced with the reverse of a common dilemma. Often I am wondering if I would buy a jacket that only looks good open. That actually works ok for most blazers.
Now, I love this coat but it has ties and does not really translate to wearing open. However since it's outerwear, that may be okay.
The blush is neutral to cool- not super- cool end of spectrum but good- not peachy. It fits really well everywhere. The side tie concept is much better for my figure than front ties-- actually looks much LESS like s bathrobe, and gives s nice flat tummy look. A real draw is the narrow collar-- I'm learning that is a good proportion rather than larger collars-- and it can be worn flat or turned up.
The tie fastening can be done looser or tighter and the coat still looks right, so that's good for versatility. Of course I can leave it untied while driving and could untie if perishing from heat.
What has been your experience with this situation? More things I should consider? It looks very polished and I only wonder if I will feel TOO fashiony or " buttoned up".
It comes in other colors too if someone else may be interested!
