I love #1.

Does anybody remember jeans before skinny jeans?

These in #1 don't even exactly lool BF to me, but they look very good. So, though they may feel loose, they don't look overwhelming. This seems like a good way to dip toes in the fluid fit but still stay in tune with your sleeker style.

The first looks great. I love my baggy boyfriends. Mine go on & off without unbuttoning or zipping & I depend on a belt to cinch them in.

Holy smokes, Pair #1 look brilliant on you!!

It's true that we have to find our bagginess threshold. But you can definitely wear these from a flattery perspective.

I prefer the BF look in 1.
The loose factor depends on how they stretch out with wear, too, not just in the changing room. I made the mistake of buying BF Banana Republic jeans based on how they looked in the changing room. Within a wear, they had stretched out at least a size, so much so that wearing a belt was an absolute must. The waist band scrunches up so much that it looks like the pants are too big, even though they are one size smaller than what I usually wear. In the future, I will probably aim for a lower cotton content.

I'm glad that suggestion helps! I've started doing that with all pants/jeans before I take off the tags and commit. I've made the mistake of assuming things will stretch only to be disappointed they're too tight, and assuming they *won't* stretch, and ending up with a too-big fit!

Thanks Angie! I am seeing that the opinion is unanimous! I will return the smaller pair and keep the larger pair.

Sorry for the double replies above. Some how I thought it didn't pose so I retyped it.

Astrid, I like the idea of a bagginess threshold. I am so used to my skinny and straight leg jeans that anything too loose my feel awkward.

Janet, I am certain that there is something off with the proportion of loose slacks and jeans for me also, but I haven't figured out what it is like you have in your situation. I love your idea of wearing the jeans around the house to see if they stretch out! Bravo! I have learned something new! I would never have thought of doing this on my own!

Janet, both pairs will need a belt! They will certainly fall down otherwise. I also think they will give a nice view of my Hanky Panky's if I bend over!) I love the idea of wearing the jeans to see what happens with the. I have never done that before! Bravo! I have learned something new! Keep the tags on and wear the jeans to see how much they stretch out during the day.

Astrid, I like the idea of bagginess threshold. I am so used to my skinny, and straight leg jeans. I am guessing anything baggy or too loose is going to feel awkward.

Those look good on you, in my opinion. I like the first ones (the looser ones). That's how I prefer my boyfriend jeans too -- they have some ease all the way down, the waist is a bit loose and the seat is a bit baggy, but they are not so loose that they fall right off without a belt (which is how some women like them).

The second pair looks good too, but is more like a pair of skinny jeans.

Well, those look pretty fantastic on you, from what I can see. I think the first pair looks like it fits with ease without being overly baggy. The second look more like a traditional skinny fit.

I think we all have to find our individual comfort sweet spot for BF jeans. Mine, like yours, is not terribly baggy. There are some other women here on the forum who love and look amazing in really baggy jeans, but I am not one of them. I don't have your slim frame, but I feel like really baggy jeans kind of do the same thing really tight jeans do on me -- put too much emphasis on my slightly larger bottom half. They just do it with excess volume rather than too much tightness. :-)

I would recommend wearing them around the house for a few hours and seeing how they feel -- whether they bag out and become bigger over time, and whether the excess at the waist causes them to fall down and you have to keep hitching them up (my frequent problem, but this happens with most of my jeans anyway -- enter the Hipsi belt!). I do think these look really great on you.

I like the fit of the first pair! My BFs always were rather baggy, but everyone is different. Angie calls it bagginess threshold. You have to find yours and see what you're comfortable with.

I have been struggling with the fit of boyfriend jeans. I have purchased and returned several versions that were just too large and baggy for me. My frame is just too small. I thought that the look would never work for me, and then I saw that there is such a thing as skinny boyfriend jeans. I ordered some, and even they are loose in the waist and hips. How loose is too loose? I can put my entire hand between the waist band and my hip! I ordered the size that was recommended based on the size chart and one size down. I have muscular legs, so sizing down again doesn't seem an option, I think the legs will become too skinny and they will look like skinny jeans. I have to say though that these are the best of the boyfriend jeans I have tried. The rest belong on YLF bloopers, if there is such a thing!

Here are the pics. Pair one is the recommended size. Then one size down.
