I have loved this look since the 80's when I used to steal my brother's 501's. I am extremely short waisted so the highest rise I can wear is a 9". Boyfriend jeans hit my sweet spot for this. I wear them all winter long with sock booties or cowboy boots. I prefer blouses and blazers to sweaters so I get a streamlined fit up top. Skinny jeans are my least favorite style. I only own one pair. I love that there are so many jean styles since there are so many different body types. But I’m hanging on to the pairs I like as I’m not out of room in my closet and i do wear a a lot of hip length sweaters and tops, and if you are covering the top few inches, only you know the rise. The slouchy fit feels better than a tight fit when it’s humid/sticky out, and the rolled legs are easier to wear with flats, sandals, and fashion sneakers than booties, I’ve found.
